[Timeskip: 3 months later]

Fon currently collecting handouts he gave to the students, a request form to do a home-visit to discuss with their parents about their academic performances.

"Sensei, you really had to go?," asked one of the female student, as she given Fon her handout flyers.

"Too bad I'm only a replacement teacher," said Fon, trying to ease the situation.

That is when he arrived at Tsuna's table. The boy is still so mysterious to him, rarely asked any question in class. He came and went as he please, barely said anything, so cold to the people around him.

"Tsunayoshi-kun," called Fon to catch the said boy attention. He learnt that the boy didn't like to be called by his last name.

The boy turned to look at him and taking out the handout from his bag. Fon accepted it, but the form is blank.

"Tsunayoshi-kun, did you pass this handout to your parents? It's important for them to know your academic performances," said Fon, but the boy just ignored him.

"Tsunayoshi-kun, I'm talking to you right now," said Fon in firm tone. Tsuna looked at him and mumbled something, which he couldn't catch.

"The answer is in the paper. If it's blank, that means you don't have to bother to come to my house," said Tsuna. He grabbed his bag and went out of the classroom as the ring bell rings.

Fon on his way to do his recycle garbage routine when he saw a familiar face, Tsunayoshi Sawada. The said boy had an angry look on his face, while glaring at something he just threw in the recyclable garbage. The boy turned around and left.

Fon entered the place and looked at what Tsuna glared at earlier and found a worn-out lion plushie. It looked old, but looked like it well taken care of at the same time. There are some stitches here and there, but it shows that the owner really cares about the plushie.

"Oh my, he threw it out again?" said an old man, who entered the place as well. The old man took the plushie out of the garbage before dusting off the dirt on the plushie.

"Do you know who does it belong to,jii-san?" Asked Fon. The old man nodded while looking at the toy.

"It belong to Tsuna-kun. I lost count how many times he thrown it out. Even went as far as Kokuyo just to throw it out. But in the end, he always comes back for it," said the old man.

"If he care for it, why did he thrown it out?" Asked Fon. The old man looked at him.

"Do you know him?" Asked the old man.

"Oh, I'm sorry for not introducing myself. My name is Fon. I'm currently a replacement teacher in Tsunayoshi's class," Fon answered and the old man just nodded.

"My name is Timoteo. You can just called me Grandpa Tim," Timoteo smiled at Fon, before he sighed in defeat.

"Then, I guess I can leave it to you in case he comes back for it. But trust me, he will come back for it" said Timoteo, handing the toy to Fon.

"As for why he threw it out, it's better if you asked the person himself," Tim left Fon as he pulled the cart full of recyclables.

//

Just like the old man said, around 7.00 pm, Fon could see Tsunayoshi wandering around the recycle bin with a panic look on his face. He decided to approach the boy.

"Tsunayoshi-kun?" Fon approached the boy. The boy turned to look at him. He masked the panic look on his face with his cold demeanour.

"What are you doing here? Did you live around here?" Asked Tsuna. Fon nooded.

Then, he turned to look at the familiar toy in Fon's hand. The boy expression slowly changed to a relief one and Fon catch all of it. From panic to cold to indifferent to relief. It's rare to see that boy show his emotions like that.

"That's...," said Tsuna.

"Oh, this. I found it in the garbage can. It looked like it was well taken care of so I took it in case that person threw it out by mistake," said Fon, looking at the toy. He could see that Tsuna's eyes fixed on the toy.

"It's mine. Give it back," said Tsuna, extending his hands to take it back from Fon.

"If you want it, why did you throw it away, Tsuna-kun?" Asked Fon.

"It's none of your business," Tsuna answered. He start to look annoyed at Fon.

"Nope. It's mine now," Fon refused to give in to the boy. He's gonna make the boy agreed to his condition. It's such a rare moment. The boy glared at him, clearly upset.

"You can have it back, only on one condition. You allowed me to do house visit next week to your house. 14th October, is it okay?" smiled Fon.

"You're trying to blackmail me?"

"Nope, I just make an offer for you. If you agreed, you can have it back. If not, then I guess it's your loss," said Fon, swinging the toy back and forth.

"Do as you see fit," said Tsuna, grabbing the toy from Fon. He turned to walk away.

"Alright! See you on 14th October, Tsuna-kun. I'm looking forward to it," smiled Fon, as he see the boy walked away with the toy.

'You shouldn't throw it out if it's was precious thing to you, Tsunayoshi. Just like how your mom shouldn't throw you out of her life,' Fon sighed and walked away as well.

//

Tsuna inspected the toy as he was walking to his house. He could see a little rip on the toy's legs cause of the way he grabbed the toy from Fon earlier.

"Your legs almost ripped off, Natsu. I'm sorry for what I did, I shouldn't throw you out. I fixed you up later, okay?"  A rare smile appears on his feature as he caress the toys. He remembers the moment he got Natsu as a gift for his 7th birthday.

=FLASHBACK=

"Tsu-kun, this is my promise to you. Keep holding onto this. I promise I will come back to you, okay?" Nana looked at Tsuna with tears brimmed on her eyes.

"Alright, Kaa-san. Can I name it Natsu? Just like my name," young innocent Tsuna smiled at his mother.

"Sure, you can. Natsu, please keep Tsuna as your company. I promise I'll be back as soon as possible," Nana peppered kisses on Tsuna's cheek before she left Tsuna at the doorstep of their house.

=FLASHBACK:END=

Tsuna shakes his head as those painful memories resurface in his mind. He knows his mother abandoned him 8 years ago. She never came back, there was no news he heard from her. She cut him off from her life. She's probably happy somewhere else, forgetting that she even had a son here in Namimori.

So, why did Tsuna still hold onto the old Natsu plushie? Even Tsuna didn't have an answer to that question. It just feels right at that moment to hold onto Natsu, even if he knows that promises he made with his mother were just an old empty promises.

Tsuna actually knows the answer on why he kept holding onto Natsu, but his pride refused to acknowledge it. Loneliness. That is one answer that Tsuna refused to accept.

Tsuna hated being alone, but being alone is the only choice he has.

Emotion will only drag him down. That's why he had to kill every single one of them.

Without emotion he will be strong. Without emotion, he would not be hurt by anyone again. Without emotion, he will be just fine.

That's why he will be just fine. Just him and Natsu.
