                    Zach's POV - 1:56 pm Saturday

     I pushed the stop button on my old school mp3 player. I tugged at the blue ear buds stuck in my ears. My chest heaved, and I let out a deep sigh... The song I was listening to, "Far Away From Home", describes all of emotions I kept bottled inside perfectly. I needed to stop listening to it. I was starting to feel depressed.

      It's not easy to be a demon like me, the Devil's son, ya know. My worst problem is my anger. I am what humans would call  "Bipolar".  Because of this issue, I have seal. It's in the form of an ear ring on my left cartilage. If anyone asked me how it works, I wouldn't be able to answer them. It's very complicated...

     Sometimes I just feel like I'm living in a black hole... an Abyss. I'm prisoner of my own Hell. But ever since this girl came into my life, my anger I've kept inside has decreased.  I feel like there's a light at the end of the tunnel for the first time in my life...

     I rolled up my headphones and put my mp3 in my drawer. There's no time to be mopping around! Today I've got something to do, and I needed to leave early if I didn't want to get caught.

"Luke! " I reached over and nudged my friend, who was reading a book in the bed next to me "I'm going to sneak out today.. Wanna come with?"

"Cool! You mean to that forest?" He asked grinning slyly as usual, "I wish I could, but man... you won't believe how much work I've got to do for History of the Undead" He said disappointed.

"No problem" I sighed

        I looked across the room. There Mia was, sleeping peacefully. I combed my hands through my  thick, black hair. I was debating whether I should wake her up or not, seeing that she has been through a lot after coming to this school. Even so... if we didn't get going now, someone will catch us. Going into the forest was against the rules... Not that I cared anyway.  (⌐■_■)  

  I got up and shuffled over to Mia's bed. For someone as petite and innocent looking, you wouldn't have guessed she was a pure blood vampire. Basically... a vampire princess.

"Mia.. Wake up. We're going somewhere today. I want to show you something"  I whispered, though I knew it would be a bit hard to wake her up.

She turned over, her silky brown hair falling in her face. I poked her shoulder and chuckled. Mia yawned and stretched, showing her cute fangs.

'Morning" She said warily as she opened her eyes

"It's 2 in the after noon!" I said

"No way! I've never slept that long... "  Mia responded

"You'll adjust soon.' I said "Get ready, we're going outside."

She got up, grabbed her clothes and ran to the bathroom without hesitating.

                                                             A few minutes later

   I crouched behind a pillar in the corridor. All of my senses were on overdrive. I layed on my stomach and slithered like a snake. Mia and I were downstairs now, making our way to the back exit. We passed the bathroom and lounge room, being extra careful not to get caught.  Mia was crawling behind me, following my every move.

"Where are we going, and why are you crawling on your stomach?" She was cracking her self up. 

"You'll just have to wait and see..." I whispered "Oh crap!" I retreated, and pressed myself against the stone wall. Mia followed suit. There were a two succubus's in the room next to me.

"Oh my Gosh, Jessica!" I heard one say, "You won't believe what happened today."

"Oh my Gosh... what happened Chrissy?" Another ditzy girl said

"Well... I was at sitting in the gym, right? Then Cory came up to me and said 'Your hair smells good.'"  She squealed in delight.  Ugh how can anyone be so stupid?

That crap went on for what seemed like a lifetime. Finally, after I nearly went brain dead just from absorbing that idiocity... I heard their voices drift off. They were walking away. Great!

"Here's our chance. Run!" I grabbed Mia's hand and we ran as fast as we could without making a sound. The classrooms zoomed past in a blur as we made our way down the last corridor. The exit was so close yet so far. I shot my hand out in front of me. Almost there.... "Push!"  We both ran into the door and shoved it has hard as we could. The brass door felt cold against my hand as I collided against it.

Suddenly, the door opened, and I was blinded. I put my hand over my eyes to block the sunlight.

"That *huff*... was *huff*... AWESOME!" Mia exclaimed as she put her hand on her knees

"That was only part one of our journey. Time for part two." I said, and plopped down on the grass to catch my breath.
