The Ravenclaw Common room boasts an extraordinary view of the Hogwarts grounds. Leaving its residents in constant awe with the enormous arced windows that structured the tower, giving a clear sight of the Forbidden Forest.

It was the airiest of the four houses, with long blue drapes decorating its curved walls and a domed glass ceiling enchanted to twinkle with the night's stars, moving with Earth's constellations.

The body of their tower remained quiet, with only light hums of snores audible near the stairways. Home-coming had wrapped around the first weekend of September, something the greater part of students had taken full advantage of, most of whom still lay deep asleep.

Rory however rose with the birds- another habit she had cursed herself with.

Instead, she sat on a small bronze sofa that was sectioned off in front of the north window. The Black Lake's waves crushed onto the brick far underneath her as her eyes read the lines of her muggle book, Pride and Prejudice.

Daphne introduced it along with a small stack of muggle literature on their ride to Hogwarts. The blondes mother, an English teacher at a Secondary School in London, had sent Aurora a copy; stating it as one of her absolute favorite reads.

She was off to a slow start- struggling to keep up the old English dialogue the book consisted of. Her fingers stroked impatiently alongside the beige pages of her book, the thin corner of the paper dancing on the tip of her index finger before turning the page.

The soft vibrations of footsteps near indicated the loss of time. The sun now laid higher in the sky and the dozens of students emerging from their dorms was enough for Aurora to run and hide.

Her head laid low as she walked towards the girls' stairway, hoping to not draw any unwanted attention. In the prior twenty-four hours, she had indeed noticed a shift due to her appearance. She insisted that the stares and whispers weren't just in her head and mentally she cursed her mother for convincing her to take the treatment.

The small leathered watch wrapped around her wrist read seven-twenty three. In seven minutes, four enchanted birds would sing over Daphne's head, attempting to wake her up.

"Didn't think you'd be up so early on our first day," a semi-cheerful voice chirped as she entered her shared dorm. Agnes Schmidt sat fully clothed on her twin sister's bed, her perfectly curled hair framed her slim tan face.

Aurora observed the mess her dorm-mate created in such little time. Clothes spilled out of multiple trunks and shoes were now scattered around the floor. It would be hard to think someone as polished and posh as Agnes could create such havoc. "Didn't think I'd have to tip-toe around all your stuff so early into the year," she returned, sarcasm bouncing through her vocal cords.

A smirk crept onto Agnes' face. The exchange between the two girls distracted them from Daphne's awakening. The blonde slightly sat up, supported by the two white pillows beneath her head with minutes to spare her alarming birds. "Where's thing two?"
