Days passed by quickly, and before Sunghoon knew it, it was already Thursday. He used that as motivation, knowing the weekend was just around the corner. What happened last Monday was already forgotten by him, at least he tries to. However, every time it's past ten PM, Sunghoon could feel something itching inside him. Explains why he's been getting an inadequate amount of sleep these past few nights than usual. Why does that bother him so much? He doesn't know. And he doesn't need to know. After all, no one knows. Nobody knows why, right?
Surprisingly enough, he's not seeing his face these days as well. He still does, but barely. Compared to the past few weeks in which his face is almost everywhere Sunghoon goes. He's thankful for this, of course. And he's not frequenting anymore in his office, critiques are finally out of his ears, at least for this week. Kim Sunoo, he supposed, is busy with other departments. Or whatever, Sunghoon does not give a flying fuck anymore, honestly.
Well, luck may not be on his side today.
Today was supposed to be another grueling presentation for the marketing and finance departments. Of course, he has to be there. It's been days since he last saw his face properly and up close. And today, he will see that face again, and hear his voice that is still devoid of warmth. Somehow, the thought makes him giddy.
As everyone gathered in the meeting room, Sunghoon could finally see their boss, Kim Sunoo. However, instead of looking calm and collected like he's used to, Sunoo is looking irritated and agitated than usual, dismissing, Sunghoon thinks, multiple calls on his phone. Sunghoon noticed Sunoo's frustration, and annoyance began to bubble inside him, but he chose not to say anything about it.
"Is everyone here?" Sunoo asks. And Sunghoon discreetly heaves a sigh as he finally hears his stern and cold voice. Sunoo roams his eyes around, probably checking if everyone needed is present in the meeting, until it stops on Sunghoon. Sunghoon gazes back, his fingers ticking his nail underneath the table. Then, it moves past him. Sunghoon's movement halts, somehow, disappointment creeped up into him for a very, very, little time.
"Shall we begin?" Sunoo looks at Shin Jiyeon, the head of the Finance department. She quickly understands, then stands.
Jiyeon began her presentation, everyone listening attentively. Everyone, but Sunghoon. His eyes keep darting back to Sunoo who, surprisingly, is having a hard time to focus as well. This is because his fingers keep hovering his phone, dismissing calls again. Until, Sunoo finally shut it down. Sunghoon's eyebrows furrowed, wondering just who the hell is calling Kim Sunoo. When he thought of a name, he quickly dismissed the idea and tried to focus on the presentation. Jiyeon is still presenting but was abruptly cut off halfway through. An employee knocked and entered the meeting room, whispering something that seems to be important to Sunoo. Everyone saw and heard the heavy sigh that Sunoo let out. He soon dismissed the employee, stood up, grabbed his suit from his swivel chair, and apologized to everyone in the meeting room, announcing that he really needed to attend an important meeting.
"I sincerely apologize to everyone here, especially to you Ms. Jiyeon, but I really have to attend this important meeting now. You may have your lunch now." Sunoo licks his lower lip, frustration visible in his eyes.
Everyone understood, while Sunghoon chose to just shut his mouth, despite feeling uneasy and not knowing why. As Sunoo and all other employees were about to exit the meeting room, Sunghoon halted as the door opened again.
It revealed Choi Minjun.
Sunghoon's eyes instantly darkened at the sight. Everyone bows to him. Everyone, except Sunghoon again. And of course, Sunoo. Minjun, with a tone that Sunghoon definitely hates, calls Sunoo.
