Shadow smiled softly and blushed, pulling sonic into a tight and loving hug
Shadow: ,,I love you too Sonic, so much... never forget that, okay?"
Shadow gave him a loving kiss on his forehead, still holding him close as he did
Sonic is silent
Shadow looked at Sonic and noticed how he was being silent, which immediately made Shadow worried again
Shadow: ,,Is something wrong? You've been quiet for the past minute."
Shadow gently tilted sonic's chin up with his hand, and gave him a concerned look as he studied his face and body language
Sonic: ,,is it true that you are a project?"
Shadow froze up for a second, that question was like a surprise attack and he wasn't expecting it
After a moment he sighed and softly let go of sonic's face
Shadow: ,,Yeah, I am... I guess you could say that... I was created in a lab by Dr. Gerald Robotnik, my grandfather... I am the ultimate life form, just as they intended and designed me for when I was made."
Sonic: ,,how does it feel to be a project?"
Shadow paused and thought for a moment, then gave a small shrug
Shadow: ,,I honestly don't mind it. I have a lot of power and I was designed to be physically perfect... The only thing that I kind of find annoying about being a project is the fact that I was never given a choice in being made or in being created, it was all by humans..."
Shadow looked at sonic again and gave a small, almost sad smile
Shadow: ,,Why do you ask?..."
Sonic: ,,I am asking you because I know almost nothing about you and because I am completely different from you"
Shadow smiled and grabbed onto sonic's hands with his own
Shadow: ,,Sonic, I promise you, I'm not any different from you just because I was created in a lab. Sure, I have great power and stuff, but I have a heart and soul just like you, I have feelings and emotions just like you, I fall in and love and have fears just like you."
Shadow smiled a little more
Shadow: ,,I know that we're different on the outside, but it's what's on the inside
that matters the most"
sonic: ,,Shadow, I know that...project or not...you are the best thing that ever happened to me, Shadow, you alone are everything that makes me happy..."
Shadow's eyes went slightly wide and he blushed at those words. He hugged sonic tight, and held him close. He was filled with joy and love at those words
Shadow: ,,Oh, Sonic... you're the sweetest and greatest person I've ever met... you're everything that makes me happy as well... I love you so much"
Sonic: But if Robotnik created you...why do you hate him so much?
Shadow's happy expression immediately darkened into a frown and a scowl as he heard Robotnik's name, and his body tensed up
Shadow: ,,He might have created me, but that doesn't mean that I should like him. That madman has done so much harm to our world, and I'll never forgive him for what he has done to me... and to Maria..."
Shadow's fists clenched as he said the last part
Sonic: ,,you loved her, didn't you?"
Shadow's face darkened again and his fists clenched harder when he said those words. He began to look angry and upset as he spoke
