"Violence is i guess your way of
Telling me you love me. I take it as it.
I think my phone died, because
Of the time it stayed on,
waiting for you to call. "Blair and I enter the party hand in hand and it's with joy that I observe the smiles plastered on the faces of the parents. The music and atmosphere aren't the best part, but it's still decent.
We head straight for Ruby when we spot her. She's wearing a very simple but beautiful outfit. We talk about the rest of the evening and they both leave.
I fly around the room, making sure no one's wishes are denied. Only this party is blocking my view of the letter and Oxford. It has to be perfect.
My head turns to a screen, and I find myself looking at photos taken of Beaufort at the match. His words are still fresh in my mind, so I quickly look away. I pass James's friends buttinating about the event but decide to ignore the idiots. Even they won't be able to spoil the party, I've literally given days of sleep and my energy for this.
I'm putting notebooks back in place when a presence casts a shadow over me. Mr Sutton, standing a few centimetres away from me, asks.
—"May I speak with you for a minute ?"
I look around, not noticing the ocean-blue gaze of the person who's made my head spin for a few sentences staring at me cursing himself for not being closer to us . Sutton takes me to a slightly secluded spot, and begins.
—"What you saw was, uh, absolutely unacceptable. But it's really not what you think. Me and Miss Beaufort haven't met as teacher and student. We know each other for-"
he went to continue but I quickly interrupted him.—"Mr, Listen, this is none of my business-" He cuts me off.
—"It won't happen again, and I apologize for putting you in this extremely awkward position."
—"Miss Delgado."
Lexington's firm voice rings out. Sutton moves away from me, and Lexington approaches to say.—"My compliments, it's exactly as I imagined."
The sun lights up on my path, and I can hardly contain my joy as I respond with a gaping smile on my face.
—"Thank you sir, thank you very much."
But suddenly I'm surprised by a song that's different from anything we've played since the beginning of the evening and not at all appropriate for an evening of this scale. I feel my heart beating at a rate not even Verstappen could reach and watch in horror as streapers take off their coats and start dancing.
Lexington doesn't give me a glance and rushes towards them. Tears roll down my cheeks. I signal to the DJ to stop the music, but my warning goes off like a puff of air.
