On Mount Justice
Kid Flash was on his fourth hot dog when Nightwing and you walked into the cave. Zatanna and Aqualad were there as well, chatting about their respective plans for the week.

"Hey, look who finally decided to join the party," Kid Flash teased with a smirk, his mouth full of food.

Zatanna chuckled, shaking her head at the speedster's gluttony. "You're going to give yourself indigestion," she chided.

Nightwing gave Kid Flash a lighthearted smack on the back of his head before turning to address everyone. "Now that we're all here, let's get down to business."

The team straightened up, all traces of playful banter disappearing as they focused on the mission at hand. Nightwing gave a quick rundown of the situation, then opened it up for questions. Aqualad was the first to speak up, his face serious as he asked for more information. They delved into discussions and strategic planning, each member contributing their ideas and insights.

You listened intently, absorbing each word and taking note of the team's dynamic. It was clear that they were not just a group of heroes but a close-knit team, each member bringing their own strengths and perspectives to the table.

You observed Nightwing as he led the discussions with confidence and authority. It was clear that he was not only respected but also trusted by the team. Even Kid Flash, who often challenged authority, listened to Nightwing's words with a serious expression on his face.

As you watched the team work together, it struck you how different they were from the Justice League. Their discussions were more organic and collaborative, without the stiffness and hierarchy that seemed to permeate the other team.

The team wrapped up their discussions as night began to fall outside. "Alright everyone, good job," Nightwing said, his tone carrying a hint of fatigue. "Get some rest and we'll reconvene in the morning."

The team dispersed, each member heading off to their respective quarters. Nightwing lingered for a moment, his eyes following you as you headed towards the girls' dormitory.

You were aware of his gaze on you, but you didn't acknowledge it. Your mind was still spinning with the intensity of the mission's discussion, and you were eager to take some time to absorb and reflect on it all.

As you reached the door to the girls' dormitory, you glanced back over your shoulder. You saw Nightwing watching you, his expression unreadable in the dim lighting.

There was a silent exchange between you, a moment of understanding and unspoken connection. Despite the whirlwind of emotions and the complexities of your relationship, there was an undeniable bond between you.

You offered him a faint smile before disappearing into the girls' dormitory, the door softly closing behind you.

Night fell, and the cave grew quiet. You slept fitfully, tossing and turning as fragments of a mission ran through your mind mixed with flashes of Nightwing's touch and taste. You woke with a start, drenched in a cold sweat and filled with an overwhelming sense of longing.

Unable to find rest again, you got up and quietly made your way out of the dormitory. The dimly lit corridor was eerily silent at this hour, the only sounds coming from the distant humming of the cave's machinery.

As you wandered down the hallway, your footsteps echoing softly, you couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling gnawing at the edges of your consciousness. Something was off, you could sense it, but you couldn't quite pinpoint what it was.
