The Dragon Pit was an unsettling place, its depths home to fearsome, untamed dragons. Yet for Visenya, it held a different meaning- this was her family's domain, where the bond between riders and their dragons were made. Despite the dread it inspired, she couldn't deny the exhilaration she felt in its presence.

Some of her most cherished memories took root here. As she watched in admiration as Aegon effortlessly commanded Sunfyre. Witnessing that unbreakable connection between dragon and rider awakened a longing in Visenya. It drove her to name her own dragon Moonfrye.

Either way, playing with the princes was far better than spending time with the maid and the queen, hovering over her's and Helaena's shoulders while they practiced needlepoint and Valaryian.

The princess' would spend their days together during their lessons, Visenya enjoyed listening to her rambling about bugs and her dreams. Helaena was quiet and misunderstood as by most but Visenya was not one of them, she listened to her grandsire as he spoke about the Targaryen dreamers, such as Daeyns.

Heleana was most definitely a dreamer, not that their family ever listened to her.

Her attention was drawn back to her brother, Jace, and his dragon, Vermax. The dragon masters standing behind them surrounded the five children with their weapons at the ready, prepared for a worst-case scenario in case the young dragon were to attack any of the children. With a single word from Jace, the goat standing before them was suddenly engulfed in flames, and Vermax happily dug into his freshly killed prey, his hunger and excitement evident in his eager devouring of the burning offering. Jace watched with wide eyes and smile.

Until hushed whispers and conspiratorial glances were exchanged between Jace and Aegon, as they gestured for Aemond to join them, clearly setting some mischievous plot into motion. Under the pretense of having discovered an unclaimed dragon within the pit's depths, they led him towards the gloomy maw, stoking his anticipation with each step. Yet Visenya's brow furrowed in skepticism, for she was unaware of any riderless dragons residing there, and her suspicions were piqued by her brothers' sly grins and furtive glances.

Visenya's skepticism deepened, her thoughts racing with the implausibility of such a fortunate discovery. If a riderless dragon truly existed in the pit, Aemond would have been the first to know, she reasoned. Her doubtful gaze met her uncle's shrug, his eyes revealing a flicker of hopefulness beneath a veneer of nonchalance, as he endeavored to conceal his excitement from the dragon masters. But, her instincts proved correct, and the "dragon" was revealed to be nothing more than a pig — The Pink dread.

Her brothers and uncle were laughing at Aemond who stared ahead at the pig standing in front of them, the three other boys laughing and oinking at him, her younger uncle pushed past the other three boys, running away likely to his chambers, Visenya looked to both of the others and with a disapproving shake of her head, she followed after Aemond.

She found him sitting on the stairs desperately rubbing underneath his eyes trying to stop the tears from falling down his face, he looked to Visenya and made his face as stony as he could in the moment, he glared at her for a moment before bitterly saying; "Did you know?" His voice was cold and piercing, stinging her, Visenya had always been relatively close with her aunts and Uncle's which she viewed more as elder siblings along with Jace, luke, and Joffrey.

Aemond and Visenya shared a passion for dragons and history. Their similarities ran deep, making them kindred spirits in many ways. She had promised him in their younger years as soon as Moonfrye was large enough they would ride together, with or without his own dragon, he would feel the wind and the fire of riding on dragon back regardless of what the fates choose.

"How little do you think of me?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "I desire nothing more than for you to bond with a dragon, to soar the skies. Our brothers are cruel because they are ignorant. They do not understand." She had often been told that she possessed wisdom beyond her years, a trait developed by her grandsires, with whom she spent most of her time, absorbing their words and insights like a sponge. This exposure made her seem more mature than many of the boys around her, and she often repeated the wise phrases she had heard, carrying herself with a quiet confidence.
