A Demons heart, A Boys Soul

Chapter 2: It gets rocky

      Lucas gets up and goes about his normal daily routine, until he needs to make breakfast. His porridge is missing, and the fruit in the fridge went bad, mould having grown on it all over night. When Lucas went to start his car, the engine was smoking, and made an unsettling rattling noise.

     When an mechanic comes to check Lucas' car, he says there is nothing wrong with it, and doesn't understand why it wont start. He sighs in defeat as he slumps against his front door. He seemed cursed, as if he hadn't done enough for god. Lucas calls in sick from work and walks down to his church, which is at the corner of his street.

    Once Lucas gets to the church, he goes inside quietly, making sure to disturb nothing. He goes into one of the side rooms, the prayer room, and kneels in front of the window. He closes his eyes and places his hands together, praying to god. He prays for his misfortune to end and for his luck to turn around, and for his car to work. Once done, Lucas does a quick good bye and then leaves the church, going out to get shopping to last him a week.

     Lucas bough some basic things, like bread, cheese, and ham, hoping it will be enough. Once he gets home, Lucas makes himself a ham and cheese toasted sandwich and ate it quietly as he thought about what to do later.

      After he finishes his sandwich, Lucas begins cleaning out his fridge, wondering how everything is basically coated in mould, almost throwing up multiple times as he filled he garbage bag with mouldy food. Lucas took the bag out to the apartment building dumpsters before getting a bucket of hot water, a sponge, a mask, gloves and strong mould remover to clean his fridge. He spends three hours making sure its cleaned before he is satisfied, sitting back, emptying the bucket into the sink, and chucking the gloves, mask and sponge away.

    Lucas made himself another toasted sandwich for dinner before getting ready for bed. Lucas goes to bed in cheap, warm pyjamas, curled up on the left side of his bed as he drifts off.
