TIME

Short story

Written by: Bibimbols

___________

TICK.

TOCK.

TICK.

TOCK.

Twelve numbers.

Three hands.

Each of it tells by the minutes.

Hours.

And seconds.

TICK.

TOCK.

TICK.

TOCK.

That sound keeps repeating all over my head as I gazed myself through the clock.

TICK.

TOCK.

TICK.

TOCK.

Every movement is a cycle.

The pattern is still the same.

And the numbers are still there.

TICK.

TOCK.

TICK.

TOCK.

It's unstoppable.

AND I BETTER MAKE IT STOP BEFORE IT RINGS.

TICK.

TOCK.

TICK.

TOCK.

I grabbed the clock above the table and throws it to the broken tiles.

There's no ticking sounds anymore.

And it stops moving.

The time has finally stopped.

"Are you sure about that dear?"

I quickly turned around my gaze, my eyes wander everywhere with fear and curiosity.

"Where are you? Show yourself!"

THUD!

I flinch where that sound is coming from.

And I witnessed another figure.

Another figure of the clock.

There's no ticking sounds.

No numbers.

And no hands.

BUT A SAND TRAPPED IN THE HOUR GLASS.

SHHHH...

A calm, yet terrifying sounds of the sand as it drops to the other glass made me realize one thing.

TIME IS EVERYWHERE.

No matter how much I want it to stop.

I can't change the time.

And every movement I made..

The time is the one IN CONTROL.

"I'm faster than you my dear, and you WILL NEVER stop me." Says the time.
