Sunrise (Hiromi Higuruma x Reader)

You're pulled out of the watery depths of sleep by your alarm, which is on your watch. It buzzes silently against your wrist. Blinking tiredness away, you inwardly groan – it's already time to get up for work. It's still dark outside at 4am, and it takes you a minute to figure out whether or not Hiromi is awake. He is, looking at you with equally tired eyes. "Already 4," you mumble.

"I know, I know," he says, pulling you in to kiss you on the forehead. "The early bird gets the worm, right?" You can hear the smile in his voice.

"Yeah, yeah," you say, still making no move to get up.

"It's Thursday. Just one more wake-up until the weekend. Hang in there, love." With a perhaps overly dramatic sigh, you roll over, standing as you stretch and start to prepare for your day.

"Y/N, come look at this," Hiromi says from another room as you're packing your bag.

"Wait, I'm almost ready,"

"Come look, it won't last long," he repeats insistently. What could possibly be so important? you wonder as you join him by the living room window. Outside, the sky is filled with rays of light as the sun starts to peek over the horizon, the night's darkness turning into pretty blue and purple hues. It's breathtaking. For a while, the two of you stand there, watching the sun as it slowly makes its daily pilgrimage up.

"Wow," he mutters as the sun finally eclipses the horizon.

"Maybe we should do this more often," you suggest.

"Maybe." Hiromi checks his watch. "But we'd have to wake up earlier. Come on, we'll be late if we don't leave now."

You smile as you walk out the door and get in the car. "I don't know who between the two of us is more time-oriented."

"Isn't it me?" he says with a chuckle.

"Sure, sure. You can keep telling yourself that."
