As usual I got to school early. I decided to just sit at my school desk until class started since I had a lot of thinking to do about the club.
I was caught up in my thoughts until a voice beside me made me flinch.
"Hey!" I looked to my right and found the girl from yesterday looking at me from her desk. What was her name? Hm...
"Emi, right?" I asked her, hoping I remembered her name correctly.
"Correct! Anyways, how's the club stuff going?" she asked while playing with her hair. "Oh, pretty good, we are looking for members... um... if you are interested."
"Hm... sorry, I ain't into that stuff," she shrugged.
The bell rang and class started so me and Emi stopped talking.
...
I began stretching while the bell for the lunch break rang in the background. I took my bags, said goodbye to Emi and ran towards the exit, accidentally bumping into another student wearing glasses.
"Oh! I'm so sorry, I'm just in a bit of a hurry," I said, giving a quick bow. "I-I'ts okay, really, don't worry about it," the girl said very apologetically.
After that interaction I entered the classroom right beside mine to get Rei.
...
I opened the door to the clubroom while Rei yawned behind me, since she had been sleeping through class. We entered the room and immediately noticed something was off.
There was a wardrobe in-between the couch and blackboard.
"Huh, did... did like, the theater club leave their stuff here?" I asked, clueless to the origins of the wardrobe.
"Maybe... they have a ton of costumes! Uh... hm... some of them are... interesting." Rei took out a weird long black dress, half of it striped with white lines like a piano.
"We should go and give them their things back," I said while grabbing one of the ends of the wardrobe.
As Rei and I started to move the piece of furniture, the clubroom door opened and Yamanaka-sensei entered carrying some boxes.
"Oh, what are you two doing?" she asked, tilting her head.
"The theater club seems to have left this here... for some reason," I said while moving the wardrobe to the exit.
"What? That's mine," sensei said.
"W-What... yours?" I looked dumbfounded at sensei.
"Yeah, I brought them here for the club advertisement plan," she said while setting the boxes on the couch.
"How would this ever help us get new members?" Rei asked with an annoyed look on her face.
"You'll see." Sensei opened the boxes, taking out some cartoony-looking animal costume heads. She then went to the wardrobe, looking for a bit until she took out some weird costumes, the kind you would see at a little kid's birthday party.
"These will get you some nice attention when giving out fliers." Yamanaka-sensei started to pick out some of the costumes to see which ones we could use.
"No. Nope. Nah. I'm not doing this, sorry Yumi, I think I'll go home early toda-" Rei was speed-walking towards the exit, until Sensei grabbed her by the collar of her uniform.
With one quick scream Rei was pulled by Sensei to the back of the room to a corner where I couldn't see them. Just a few seconds later, Rei walked out cussing in a low voice and wearing one of the costumes, the horse one.
