TW? [mention of anxiety attack]♡◇♡◇♡
Charlie's heart skipped a beat while he gazes at Lucille, his hand still in her own as she grins down at him. Fuck, was he always so short? Well it didn't matter to him, of course but he has honestly just never felt so small before when he was literally 6' flat.
He didn't meet much people his height or taller than he was.
But this woman is and damn, he knows that she worth the climb.
"P-please, call me Charlie." He mumbles after realizing that he was staring at her and slowly takes his hand from her own, frowning at the lack of warmth he felt as his hand parted from hers. The man was quick to cover up his frown though even if Lucille had already spotted it. And that just won't do, will it? "I perfer, Mr. Swan if you don't mind. It just has a ring to it, don't you think?" Lucille says to the male softly, lips twitching upwards as she see the way his cheeks flush while nodding his head. "I guess," he mutters lowly as he rubs the back of his neck awkwardly, not sure how to act.
Especially infront of this damn woman who he was positive had to be a Goddess of some sort. It's been a long time since he's been in a relationship and truly he's never thought about getting into another one after his failed marriage to Renee. It never crossed his mind until now but he will just keep to himself.
This woman was fucking stunning and by the looks of it, a lot younger than he was. Plus he doubted she'd want him of all people. He was a man that failed to keep a wife, a man who failed so much that his own daughter barely cared for him. He was failure at everything apart from his job. It was the only thing that he could actually do without fucking it up. His job was the only place that truly wanted and needed him.
His life had withered away and he had watched it do so. He was 42, single and alone as his daughter only came around to bring her daugher who was a bit odd and stared at him like he was food. And that was reason enough for him to work more so he was home less.
He never had a one night stand, never had fun unless it was fishing with Harry, who had died. He stayed home unless he was at work, his life was boring. He had wrinkles, back pain and no life. It was as if he forgot how to live when Renee left him but he even living then? He doesn't think so. He believes that he was much happier before he met that woman and she ruined his life. Maybe life was over for him, this woman before him would probably laugh in his face even if he just only wanted to have a friendly dinner with her. Why would she even consider the idea? Like he thought before, she is a Goddess, why would she waste her time on a mere mortal?
The mind he thought about things, the more his anxiety ate him up.
But suddenly a wave of calm swallows him whole and he lets out a deep and loud breath, blinking his eyes before his chin was suddenly tilted upwards. The touch sent a shiver down his spine and he knew who was touching him within an instant.
His chocolate brown eyes met worried red ones. "Are you okay?" She asks and he gives a small nod at her question, his heart melting into a puddle in his chest as she sounded as if she actually cared. It didn't sound the way that his daughter did, she sounded like she asked just to show that she did and not because she cared. Sadly, it was painfully obvious.
"I'm fine," he mutters as he flushes in utter embarrassment. God, can't he just do something other than his job without failing? Was he truly that worthless that he almost had an anxiety attack over the most simple shit and infront of people too? It was wonder why Isabella was so embarrassed of him. "Mr. Swan?" Lucille calls out, snapping the male out of his thoughts before he went too deep again. "Y-yes?" He mutters as he blinks his eyes before feeling a wave of calm wash over him once again. It was confusing, nice and helpful but still confusing.
He blinks slightly, glancing over towards Jasper who just gives him a warm smile that he returns. Why did he look over at the blonde male? He wasn't sure but oh well.
Charlie slightly clears his throat, pulling away from Lucille's touch which made them both utterly disappointed at the lost of touch. "I'm so sorry, where are my manners?" The male says with a small laugh which made Lucille's lips twitch upwards. That was better, alot better. It was better when he was smiling and or laughing. "Uh, would you all like to come in?" He asks them his eyes stayed guled onto Lucille whose red eyes were sill on him.
He wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing.
"Oh no, that's fine." Lucille says which made the male deflate at her words but of course. He was too desperate to spend time with the woman when he had only met her. Did he sound like a creep? Why couldn't he do anything right and why is this fucking him up so much? They had just met, he didn't understand why the hell he was feeling like this. "But how about dinner tonight?" The woman asks soon after with a smile and just like that, all of Charlie's negative thoughts had vanished into thin air.
Dinner?
She wants to have dinner with him?
His cheeks heated up once again, heart hammering in his chest as he nods his head at her. "Oh, great! I'd love to get to know you." Lucille says with a wink and nearly panicks when she hears the way his heart sped up. Damnit, she really has to be careful with him. "L-likewise," the male stutters out, clearing his throat as he looks away from her. He was going to have dinner with a Goddess and she was the one that asked- which was fucking great as he wouldn't be able too. "And it will just be you and I by the way as the kids will be busy." The red eyed woman adds, nearly gritting out the word busy which made the other vampires quickly understand what she meant.
In translation: find some damn shit to do and busy yourselves.
Charlie's mind turned to mush, alarm bells going off as he was sure that the dinner would become a fucking disaster but then again, being alone with her. Oh, he'll make a fool out of himself but did it really matter right now? Not really as he was already looking forward to dinner.
"Great," he says softly as he licks his lips nervously. "And I'll cook too. So, are you allergic to anything?" Lucille softly asks Charlie whose lips parted slightly before he shook his head, beyond happy that he wasn't allergic to anything. "Lovely, you can come over at seven." She adds with a grin, wiggling her fingers at the man. "It was so nice meeting you, handsome but we must finish unpack and also go grocery shopping. See you later," Lucille hums out as she blows him a kiss before she turns to leave, the teen vampires all followering before her after saying an goodbye to a frozen, red Charlie Swan.
Handsome?
Him? Was this woman's vision okay or did she need glasses? The male could only stare as they left, his eyes locked onto the woman whose ass jiggled like jelly with each step she took which caused him to panick and step into his house, practically slamming the door shut.
