Rayne trudged wearily into his small apartment, the weight of exhaustion dragging at his every step. The day had been long and demanding, and all he wanted was to collapse onto his couch and forget about the world outside.

As he shuffled through his dimly lit living room, his mind wandered back to the elderly lady he had delivered pizza to earlier. Her grateful smile had been a brief reprieve from the monotony of his day, but now, even that small moment of joy felt distant and fleeting.

Pushing the thoughts aside, Rayne made his way into the kitchen, the faint hum of the refrigerator providing a dull background noise to his fatigue. He needed sustenance, something to replenish his energy after a grueling day of work.

Just as he reached for the handle of the fridge, a sudden noise shattered the silence of the apartment. Rayne's heart leaped into his throat as he spun around, his eyes widening in shock.

A mysterious entity crashed through the roof above him, sending debris and dust scattering across the room. Rayne staggered backward, his mind unable to comprehend what he was witnessing. Before he could react, a wave of dizziness washed over him, and he stumbled, his vision swimming as darkness crept in at the edges.

With a groan, Rayne's legs gave out beneath him, and he collapsed to the floor in a heap. The world spun around him, a cacophony of chaos and confusion as he fought to remain conscious. But the exhaustion proved too great, and with one final, feeble effort, Rayne's eyes fluttered shut, and he succumbed to the blackness, his body limp and unconscious on the kitchen floor.
