XXXI - Recovery

Ugh...
My head is spinning..
..
Everything feels so hot.. I think I'm going to melt into a glob of goo right here and now..
I shook my head, attempting to lift my body up. It feels as if I'm carrying a few tons on my back. It's heavy, feels devastating.
I think I'm gonna die.
But once I did, I looked around.. my vision is very blurry, unclear, everything feels pixelated.
Am I.. glitching.?

() "Deep breaths, that's it, child."
(Lynx) "IS HE AWAKE, MISS?!"
(Kickin) "DD! DD!!"
(Bobby) "What has he eaten this time..?"

The shouting made me stir even more, unsure of what's going on around me right now.
I blinked a few times, blocking everything out to recover completely, only then I felt completely awake.
My stomach still.. hurts.. it's still twisting, something's wrong with it, like the acid overflowed, or something, it just hurts a lot.

(D-Day) "Guys.. what happened.?"
(Lynx) "Oh thank goodness.."
() "You lot look after him, I'll go get him some medicine."

I managed to muster up a soft and faint whine, I tried to speak, but it turned into noise, not words.
Luckily, everyone else understood what I said.
That woman over there should be the school nurse, she's digging into the cupboards on the wall over there, looking for a specific healing consumable.
I'm not dying.. am I.?

Lynx was here, so was the rest of the squad.. except.. Crafty and CatNap..
I wonder where those two went.

(Lynx) "DogDay! Are you alright.?!"
(Bobby) "Tell me, what happened to you?"
(D-Day) "Guys-"
(Bubba) "Seems to me that you have gotten food poisoning"
(Hoppy) "You've got to be joking"
(Kickin) "What did you even eat today? DD?"
(D-Day) "Guys- a moment, please.."
(Lynx) "I think I'm gonna have to change clothes.."
(Kickin) "I feel bad that he had to threw up all over you.."
(Lynx) "Worth it"
(D-Day) "I only had Picky's sandwiches.. then another one from the cafeteria.."
(Picky) "Just so you know, my food is never poisonous. Why would I even try to do that?!"
(Bubba) "No conclusions, please."
(Hoppy) "But that's impossible! We all know that Picky is an expert cook, and the school's food has been verified a gazillion times. There must be something else that he could have eaten.."
(Bubba) "Happen to recall anything, DogDay?"
(D-Day) "Mm.. I.. yes.. a gumball"
(Kickin) "A gumball? A single.. gumball.?"
(Hoppy) "This is getting so weird.."
(Bubba) "Wait! What did it taste like.?"
(D-Day) "Minty.. or something.."
(Bubba) "Strange.. have you accidentally consumed any chocolate, cacao, theobromine, anything.?!"
(D-Day) "N-No.."
(Bobby) "Who gave you that gumball.?"
(D-Day) "Some girls from my homeroom.. I think.."
(Bobby) "Girls from your homeroom.? Where are they.?!"
() "Kids, make way, please. DogDay, here's something that'll calm your stomach acid down.."

She gave me a spoonful of some syrup thing, it was bitter, but sweet after, it's a little hard to swallow, almost made me choke to death at some point..
I'm glad that I'm still pieced together.

() "DogDay, you're a dog, you can't eat chocolate.. or anything containing them.. as well as Cacao, which contains theobromine, a substance that is naturally harmful to you"
(D-Day) "B..But I didn't.?"
() "Do you happen to drink coffee?"
(D-Day) "W-Well.. a few times a week.. I just had a cup this morning.."
() "Strange, you can digest caffeine, but not theobromine..? Have you had anything else that might contain it?"
(D-Day) "Maybe it had something to do with that gumball I had this morning.."
() "Do you know who gave them to you.?"
(D-Day) "Some girls from my class.. yes.. But it was minty flavored.."
() "Minty? Hm.. if I am not so rude, can I get a quick smell of your breath please.?"
(D-Day) "For sure.. no offense.."
