Ariel froze at the sight of a small letter on her bed. She hadn't put it there before. She reached out and snatched it up, glancing at her closed door to make sure nobody was gonna come in. It was a Saturday night at her mom's house, and she was sitting at the edge of her bed, examining the letter. Of course, her mother had probably got the mail and put this on her bed. It was the obvious answer. She tucked her thumb under the seal and lifted. It slowly came up and she slipped the piece of paper into her palm. She read the words out loud: "Would you enjoy, or not enjoy?" She quickly set the paper down and looked around her room for a pencil. She found one on her night stand and quickly wrote on the paper. She circled " you enjoy" and tucked the paper back into the envelope, unsure what to do. She waited for at least 1 minute before shrugging and heading over to her computer. She turned it on and typed in her password. A new game one of her cousin's had made just came out. It was called JayLore, and Ariel was one of the first people her cousin was letting play it. She slipped the disk for the game into her computer, waiting for it to load. A little log-in thing came up and she typed in the code her cousin had given her. She hit enter and the game popped up. It was full-screen, and a character create thing came up. But first, a little question appeared. "Are you playing as a boy or girl?" She moved her mouse and clicked 'girl' and an answer showed up. "You may change your gender after 30 days" she clicked 'ok' and 14 girl avatars showed up. They were lined up on the bottom and she clicked the first one. "JayLore" was her name, and she had long white wings and periwinkle hair, which was short and cut uneven. She had a blue and white dress on, which puffed out a little. Her dress straps had tiny wings on them, and tiny hearts at the rim of her dress. The game was anime, so she was cute when looked at with her big blue eyes. She clicked "Make character" and she heard the disk making a loading sound. After a second or two, an intro came up. "JayLore is a girl who was born into an angel family, but her father was human. The angels brought her down to earth after she was born and taken care of, where she was set into her father's arms. While she played with her wings a few nights after, she heard a loud rustling sound. Then she heard a scream. She couldn't see what was happening, because she was deeply covered in blankets." pictures moved to the story, showing the angels, her father, and herself as a baby. "She knew it was morning by the time she woke up again, because she had grown. It was said she was asleep for 10 years, and she kind of believed it. After what she had heard about her father, she decided to learn martial arts with her wings and search for her long gone father. Is he still alive?" It made another loading sound as a sharp pain hit the back of her head. Her avatar showed up and it showed how to move. "W S A D...." Ariel searched for the letters on her keyboard and started moving. Her avatar was on a weird looking portal, and a young boy who looked like a merchant sat in front of her. "Please! You there! I need help..." A speech bubble floated over his head as he waved JayLore over. Ariel pressed on 'D' and JayLore walker over to the boy. Just as she stepped in front of him; an animation turned on. A boy about the merchant's age walked with two bandits (that looked like wolves because of their masks) that followed behind him. "Is this that place where we will find it for Dorothy? If it isn't," the boy stopped and growled. "Your both in a lot of trouble!" It zoomed back to JayLore and the boy, who was shivering under his glasses. "That is my twin brother, Kaito, and Dorothy is my older sister. Something is wrong with them, so I have followed them. Or at least Kaito. It seems as if they turned bad or something; I just don't know...Can you help me? There is a scout over there. Could you take care of him for me?" Ariel nodded to herself and another sharp pain hit the left side of her head. "Ow!" She shrieked in pain because this one hurt more than the other. She rubbed the side of her head as her avatar pressed on into the forest. "Hit Z for light attack, hit X for heavy attack" a little bubble popped up at the top of her computer screen. She found the scout the boy was talking about and hit X. JayLore slapped her wing once on the scout. "Is that it?!" Ariel asked surprised. This time she hit X many times, and a it made more sense. If you hit it once, you only do one thing. If you hit it many times, you do combos. JayLore's X combo is that she slaps the enemy with her wing, then hits them with her other, then flaps up into the air, spins, and a huge gust of wind whirls up and then she hits the ground so hard the everything around her gets forced back. Ariel tried out Z and this time JayLore didn't use her wings. She instead kicked multiple times. She slid under her enemy, and used her wing to get up quickly (that is so she can confuse the enemy) then she kicked them in the back. Which ALSO sent them flying. By the time she has done the Z combo, the scout was long gone. Then there was a flashing arrow telling her to move on. JayLore flapped up onto a ledge and onto another portal thing. In almost an instant, another sharp pain hit on the right side of her head. Ariel couldn't take it anymore; she was knocked out.
