Raghav's pov

As I was following her through the dimly lit corridors, I couldn't help but marvel at how unpredictable she was. Just now, she had narrowly avoided falling twice. Who knows, maybe she's searching for the spirit that haunts this old palace. Despite her youthful appearance, she seems to possess an uncanny knowledge about the secrets and stories of Rajasthan's nights.

I couldn't shake off the thought that there was something extraordinary about her. She looked like a mere child, but the way she navigated these ancient hallways suggested she had been here many times before. It was as if she was drawn to the palace by some unseen force. My phone buzzed again, reminding me of the messages piling up, but I couldn't tear my eyes away from her.

Her curiosity seemed boundless, and her steps, though sometimes clumsy, were filled with a determination that belied her age. I found myself both worried and fascinated, wondering what she was searching for and what she might find in this sprawling, eerie place.

I

take out my phone from my pocket and see a message from Veer:

"Hukum sa, clients aa chuke hai."("Hurry up, clients have arrived.")

In all the hustle and bustle, the meeting I had scheduled for today slipped my mind. Hastily, I instructed one of my bodyguards to keep a close watch on her, and with that assurance, I hurriedly left the premises. As anticipated, she didn't even notice my absence, being thoroughly engrossed in examining the walls of my palace. Thankfully, by a stroke of luck, this section of the palace was empty, ensuring no unexpected interruptions during this crucial time.

A

s I entered the party, all eyes turned towards me. Making my way to my client, who had come here for a day to finalize a nearly completed deal, I could feel the room's attention shift. In Rajasthan, aside from the royal family, no one knows me. The same goes for the shadowy world I created, a world that in turn made me the most powerful man on this continent. This anonymity is my shield, allowing me to navigate both realms with unparalleled influence and discretion.

I didn't want to be part of this dark world, but I have to protect my kingdom. The secrets and dangers I face aren't my choice, but they're necessary. My people's safety depends on my actions in the shadows. Every hidden deal and silent fight is to ensure my kingdom survives. The darkness might change me, but my loyalty and purpose remain clear: to keep my kingdom safe.

I

was talking to them when I heard a feminine voice that felt very familiar, like someone really close to me was calling me. At first, I ignored it, but then she called out again, this time saying, "Suniye."( Listen)

As I turned towards her, a surge of frustration washed over me. Before I could even react, I noticed the filthy gaze of that bastard from the royal family fixed on her. This sight unknowingly fueled the anger I constantly struggled to control, every single moment. I didn't want anyone to see us together; there was nothing between us, but people would still fabricate stories and spread their own narratives.

Stubbornness runs deep in this girl; it's in her very nature. Despite everything, she grabs my hand once more. But when I make it clear that she means nothing to me and humiliate her in front of Veer, she finally lets go of my hand.

She left me. The pain in my heart when she leaves my sight might have been visible on my face for the first time. It's strange-I never feel bad about killing people, so why am I feeling nervous and insecure just because she's leaving my place? Maybe she's sad too, maybe even talking to herself, but I really don't want to spoil an innocent person's life for my own.
