TWO

"You're taking me fishing?"

Alana Salomon furrowed her eyebrows together in confusion as she watched the blonde man that she knew was Kimi pick up multiple bits of equipment that was needed for fishing.

"We eat a lot of fish, so we go fishing."

Kimi Raikonnen spoke in a rough voice, since the pair had met up for yet another day that she was in Finland. It had been a week since they had first met and they had spent time every day with one another.

Kimi had kinda gotten used to having her around, but he would never say that out loud.

"I don't know how to fish."

"Then I teach you."

He knew that she would struggle at first with fishing, because everybody did, but she would get the hang of it pretty quickly, he could tell that she was a quick learner.

She had learnt ice skating very quickly only yesterday, so she would pick up fishing just as quick.

Alana liked Kimi.

He didn't speak a lot, she had gathered that really quickly. The most that he had spoken to her was when they first met, and yet she felt safe around him. She felt like she didn't need to hear him talk every second because when he did talk to her, it was always something that made her smile.

Except when he cursed at her, but she had only learnt the meanings for three of the many words that he had used.

They weren't nice that he had called her, but it could've been a lot more harsh, so she didn't mind.

Kimi had taken time out of his week to spend time with her and teach her the way of life in Finland. He paid for her food, he paid for her hotel, he took her out to learn new activities, so she was grateful for him and his generosity.

If only she could do the same for him in Havana, but she couldn't as soon as she arrived back there,  she'd be married to a man she didn't love and would have no happiness in her life, no time for anything or anybody except trying for children which she didn't want yet.

She was eighteen.

She wanted to enjoy the world, to spend her youth doing things that she had always dreamt of, and eventually, she would have children, in her late twenties or early thirties, ideally.

She couldn't show him her home because when she would arrive it would no longer be her home.

It would be her prison.

"I caught a fish!"

Alana squealed in excitement after two hours of fishing, having just caught her very first fish. She had failed and messed up previously, but now she had the hang of it.

"Get another!"

Kimi shouted from his place a few metres away from her, an entire bag full of fish that he had caught in the same amount of time, a lot bigger than her first fish too.
