A/N; you are best friends with the ninja but you yourself aren't one

You woke up to the painfully blaring sound of your alarm. Slapping it as if it were *insert some character we all hate*'s face, you rise from bed and stretch. It was just an ordinary day in your ordinary bed... and the sound of that annoying alarm occurs constantly. You walk over to your mirror to take a look at yourself and wipe off all the crust and drool from your face (I'm not the only one who wakes up with eye boogers right???💀). You sigh as you step into your bathroom and get ready for the day as you soon recall that the ninja had invited you to hang out with them. I'd like to say this is a regular occurrence, but they are quite busy... as much as they love to hang out with you.

—-time skip like an hour because I'm not writing about how you get ready for a hangout—

You arrive at the Monastery of Spinjitzu moments later to hangout with the ninja, who for once aren't occupied. You knock on the door firm enough for them to hear, and within a split second, your met with an opening. Jay greets you with his bubbly personality as always, and widens the opening telling you to come inside. You follow him through the entrance and into the lounge (I'm not sure what it's called. The place that they play games in (RIP Cole's Guzzler). You're soon greeted warmly be the rest of the ninja, while Jay stands proudly beside you. "I was their escort, you could say." You laughed at Jay's 'high and mighty' aura. Or so, attempted to give off that vibe. He smiles at you in a way that has the rest of the ninja staring at the both of you curiously. What feelings lie under that sweet smile?

You sit down on the couch momentarily after the ninja are finished greeting you. It's been about 5 months since you all last hung out. Sure, you've spoken, but to actually be invited over to their residence is a very rare occasion. You make sure to make the most of it. Cole hands you a controller since during his greeting he had mentioned wanting to play Prime Empire with you (I don't remember if it's a single player or not but let's pretend that it isn't). You agreed, and here you are; on the couch with him, ready to play. Jay sat on the opposite side of you to cheer you on while you play. The game starts up and both of you begin to press as many buttons on the controller as humanly possible. Jay tilts to the side to see Cole, who was concentrating so intensely to keep his high-score. He wasn't about to lose to an occasional visitor. (Jk he appreciates your presence). He leans back again and looks at you, who was doing the same in a more controlled manner. You press every button and try every strategic combo you can possibly think of... when suddenly you hear the game announce the winner. Player 2. Cole bows his head a little in shame before looking at you. "Good game, Y/N. You played well for someone without a console!" You look back at him with a slight smirk, "Who says I don't have a console?" You did in fact practice at home, and that was kept secret until now. On the other hand, Jay was clapping for you and laughing at your response to Cole. You turn your head to him and smiled widely, wondering why he gets so happy around you. You chose not to think too hard on it, but there was something about his energy near you that gave you wholesome little butterflies in your stomach. Jay noticed your smile and that only made his smile brighten. Cole hops off the couch and looks between the both of you, "Alright lovebirds you can stop smiling now... it's a little weird."
Jay looks at him, a little flustered, "For the last time, Cole, I don't like them that way!" His tone was a little whiny, which made you overthink. It was a secret that you attempted to keep hidden from yourself; those butterflies were there for a good reason. You had feelings for the blue ninja, but chose to keep them private due to a fear of losing your friendships with the ninja. Cole gave him a look (🤨😏 imagine combining those two emojis) which only made Jay act more flustered. Was he hiding something?

A few more hours passed since your game with Cole. The ninja act like themselves as usual, and Lloyd decided to sleep early. Nya and Kai took over the controllers and are having a bit of "friendly sibling fire" on one of the games. Cole decided to go to Chen's Noodle House like the glutton he is (I love Cole) and dragged Zane with him. So that would just leave you and Jay... all alone. Let's just say the awkwardness was floating in the air. You have never been alone with one ninja at a time, but being alone with the one ninja you liked is like skipping a whole bunch of steps. Jay looks at you in attempt to break the silence, opening his lips but no words come out. You decided to break it instead. "So... what do you want to do now?" Jay tilted his head at the question, but then soon thought of something. "How about a little game? You ever heard of Two Truths and a Lie?" You blinked at his suggestion. You've heard of the game, but you have a feeling that the events won't unfold too smoothly. You nodded at him, "We can play that. You can start." Jay gives you a thumbs up and then begins to speak. "Okay, so... I've driven without a license, I know what it's like to be electrocuted, and I dueled Cole like a pacifist." You giggled since the lie was pretty obvious, "You haven't driven without a license, have you?" Jay smiled, "Yay, you got it! Your turn now." You think for a moment, "Hmmm... I've eaten a cockroach, I've gone to Kyptarium Prison before (is that how its spelled i forgot), and my favorite color is blue." Jay's face turned from one of confidence to confusion within a few seconds. "Uhmmm... the lie issssss... you've eaten a cockroach!" You shook your head in slight embarrassment, "No, I've eaten a cockroach before as a dare... I haven't been to Kryptarium; thankfully." Jay's jaw dropped, "You're crazy, what the heck??" You both started laughing at the situation as you explained to him the whole lore of the dare.

After that, it was his turn once again. "Alright," he began speaking. "I've used Spinjitzu to do simple chores, I have a crush, and I robbed a bank before." You blinked at the second statement, then proceeded to guess. "The second one?" He shook his head and held up a three fingers, noting that it was the third statement. "Then who's the crush? I'm curious now." You asked him. Jay shyly pointed to you while looking at the ground. You could've sworn your heart skipped a beat since you liked him as well. You pointed back at him in the same manner as he did to you. The room seemed to heat up around the both of you.
Only one question had lingered in your head. 'What now?'
