Chapter 1
In this land, far far away, there were four kingdoms. The Red Kingdom, the Green Kingdom, the Blue Kingdom, and the Yellow Kingdom. They all lived peacefully with one another, trading goods and helping each other when in need. Everything was perfect.
The Red Kingdom was known for its strong army. and navy. They resided near the Green Kingdom. The Red and Green Kingdom had a very close knit relationship and alliance. They shared a border, so they consistently traded goods with each other. The Red Kingdom even allowed the Green Kingdom to use their ports.
The Green Kingdom was known for its wealth. They had the best trade in all of the land, yet no army. They relied completely on the Red Kingdom for protection, just as the Red Kingdom relied on them for key resources. Without one, the other could not survive, let alone thrive.
The Blue Kingdom was smaller than the rest of the kingdoms, but that made no difference in their influence. They had a strong navy and small personal army for the royal family due to the fact that the kingdom was on a peninsula. Their citizens were self-sufficient, but they relied on major trade routes with the Yellow Kingdom and Green Kingdom for goods that they wanted.
The Yellow Kingdom was rich with natural resources, living along the opposite coast of the Blue Kingdom's peninsula. They had a strong army and navy, and held strong alliances with the other kingdoms. The Yellow Kingdom had the most control over the lands, yet was the furthest from any other kingdom.
The Kingdoms were not the only places to live on this land though. Between the kingdoms were many villages and roads. This place was called the Gray Area. People born across the land claimed this as their home. Though still under the influence of the kingdom rulers, they had more freedom than those inside the kingdoms' boundaries.
The ruler of each kingdom old and wise, bore the knowledge to control their territories without fear. The people loved their kings and queens, bowing to them on their own accord. The citizens of the continent never doubted the decisions of their rulers.
However, as the rulers grew old, they needed heirs. Their children were young, and the citizens were unsure of how the changes would go. The heirs went through extensive studies, but they still didn't know about the world outside of their kingdom's walls. They didn't receive the exposure that the old, wise rulers had before taking the throne. The rulers could only hope that everything would end up okay.
As the rulers passed away, their young heirs took to the throne. They ruled with what knowledge they had, doing their best to lead the kingdoms they inherited. The heirs continued to study as they ruled, attempting to become as wise as their elders were.
The first kingdom to receive a new ruler was the Yellow Kingdom. The eldest daughter took the throne at the young age of 11. The second was the Red Kingdom one year later. The eldest son took the throne at 15. The Blue Kingdom crowned the eldest son at 14 the same year. Finally, the Green Kingdom two years after the Red and Blue. The eldest daughter was 16 when she took the throne. The Yellow heir was 14, the Red heir was 17, the Blue heir was 16, and the Green heir was also 16 when all of them were known as the new rulers of the Four Kingdoms. A new era was coming.
The new rulers of the kingdoms would hold a meeting soon to discuss future affairs between all of them. They had high hopes for this meeting and expected the others to have knowledge that they themselves didn't. The Red, Blue, and Green expected the Yellow Queen to have bountiful knowledge compared to their own. The heirs wanted to learn from each other and become friends since they were all around the same age and in similar situations. The meeting would take place in a small village that was of equal distance between each kingdom in the Gray Area. Each ruler agreed that they should each bring along 2 others with them.

Author note:
Hi !! I'm the author, y'all can call me Taylor. This is just a little story I'm going to write over the next couple of months because I've been obsessed with JubyPhonic's cover of this song. If there are any errors in grammar or spelling let me know and I'll fix them! Each Kingdom/Heir will get their own chapter. At the beginning of each chapter I'll give the point of view of what character you'll be in the perspective of. If it's 3rd person like this chapter then there will be no name in the beginning.
