Chapter 4. Entering the Labyrinth

Frankie hated how their skin crawled inside the Labrythn, it was an indescribable feeling like everything inside was trying to make them lose their mind.

They always stayed with Crish Rodrguez and Ethan Nakamura. But they too were starting to feel alienated from their mind.

When they first entered, Frankie was hopeful, because a few brick walls didn't scare them, but as they went in deeper, the gaps of sunlight didn't reach them anymore, there was only darkness.

Their crew made makeshift lanterns with the recourses they'd packed and went deeper into Deadalus' Labrythn.

But soon enough, most of the people they were going with started to go bollocks, most of them clawed their arms in horror; they said their dreams didn't let them continue the path. Mortified of what could happen to them, they were either left behind or committed suicide.

Many monsters haunted their path, but surely enough Frankie and the crew fought them until they died.

Their sanity was on a fine line, and Frankie had to be careful because if not, they would fall into the same madness as all of their other comrades.

Chris Rodriguez was losing himself, every time he went to sleep he would whisper nonsensical words.

Ethan Nakamura was starting to lose hope, he told Frankie about his mom, and that maybe if he gave up his other eye, he could help them get out of that hellhole.

Frankie never let him give up his sight. They were too afraid.

The more time they'd spend there, the more they were losing it; their mind crawled with anxiety and paranoia.

One day, Ethan was gone, along with everyone else, except Chris Rodriguez and Frankie. They had been left behind.

Frankie tried to keep them both alive with the little provisions they had in their bag. They never slept, leaving Chris to rest and regain some sanity back.

They wanted to scream for help, but they had to be careful not to come across any monsters. So most of their urges came in the form of punching the walls of the Labyrinth.

As days passed, they had less hope, Chris was starting to resemble a skeleton, and Frankie was sure they too looked like one.

"Chris?" Frankie tried to call him.

"Mary?" He said, with a cracked voice.

They were sure, he'd lost it, there was no hope.

"No hope" They kept on mumbling.

Then a shriek echoed throughout the labyrinth; Frankie pulled themself together and managed to pull out their gauntlets, ready to fight.

They had a bad feeling, a taste of metal crept into their mouth. Was the monster there or was it their imagination?

But as soon as the screams ceased, Frankie looked in front of them, and a figure was haunting their view.

Frankie ran as fast as they could, trying to pull Chris Rodriguez, but he wouldn't budge. Frankie checked for a pulse, but they didn't feel anything.

"Please Hades take care of him" Frankie prayed, as they ran from the figure.

Adrenaline pumped into their veins and made them run with the beat of their heart screaming into their ears.

"Father, I never pray to you, please, please, help me, I'm sorry, please." They said with worry and fear in their voice.

And then, they fell straight into a hole.

And then, they fell straight into a hole
