"You really plan on going?" Karma inquired as he glanced over your shoulder.

As you placed the last notebook into your bag and zipped it closed, you replied with a shrug,

"From what I've heard, it's not the most joyous event for a class, but it's my first, so I might as well, right?" You turned to face him.

"Are you going to skip this too?"

"You'll sooner see me eating live rats than catching me there," he remarked in a grim tone.

"Well then, I suppose you won't be dying of the plague anytime soon," you retorted, noticing Kanzaki waving at you from the corner of your eye.

You sighed audibly and murmured, "I guess I'll go see what all this dread is about then."

"Suit yourself," Karma responded dismissively, heading out through the front door as you made your way through the back.

"You didn't even make it halfway huh?" Karma teased you, snacking on a strawberry-flavoured wafer stick as he played Danganronpa on his console.

"I saw one snake too many and might have just run faster than Korosensei," your sweat dropped as you recalled your antics, feeling a bit embarrassed of your cowardice.

"Well, aren't you a brave one hm?" Karma chuckled at your state of being and shoved his console into his blazer's inner pocket. "So, where're ya from originally?"

You hesitated for a moment before answering, "I lived in Serbia permanently until I was eight. My mom used to travel on her own for the majority, and I stayed with one of her close colleagues. After that, she began travelling with me as well."

Karma listened intently, then raised an eyebrow. "Must have been quite the adventure."

You shrugged. "Yeah, it was. But it also meant I've been to 27 schools in the last 7 years. It's nice to travel and see new places, but never staying in one place for long can be overwhelming sometimes."

Karma nodded along as you spoke, "At least you've got some stories out of it, right?"

You smiled, appreciating him not pressing for more than you'd like to tell, "Yeah, I guess so."

"My parents ceased taking me along on their trips once I reached the age of five," Karma recounted, extending one of his wafers towards you, which you accepted with a polite "thank you."

"What do they do?" you inquired before indulging in a bite.

"Day traders," he replied dryly. His tone indicated a lack of enthusiasm to delve into the topic further, prompting you to reciprocate the mutual respect by opting for a simple acknowledgement with a thoughtful "hmm" instead.

You reclined your head against the log upon which Karma sat, resuming his game, the rhythmic sounds creating a soothing ambience that enveloped the environment.

Perhaps, you mused silently, you should consider accepting Karma's offer to skip in the future as well.

"Ain't no way you made it down the entire way but I didn't!" you exclaimed, completely shocked that your mother, your six-inch Louboutin-wearing mother might I add, succeeded in making her descent but you didn't even bother.

"Oh sweetie, not all of us were blessed with the gift of lounging like majestic sloths. Some of us have to embrace the chaotic whirlwind that is life!" Irina simply bragged, finally having accomplished an athletic victory over you.

Her being an assassin may lead one to believe she's a very agile person but they haven't seen her hyperventilating when having to climb to the second floor where your parent-teacher night was held.

"Too much nature, not enough valour mother," You laughed back at her as you sat down beside her.

"So where were you anyway?"
