Author's POV
Ishika let out a tired yawn, feeling exhausted since morning, perhaps due to fasting.
Ten minutes later, a juice appeared on her desk. She looked up and saw Rishi gazing at her.
"Um... Thanks," she mumbled.
Rishi grinned and patted her head. "You're welcome—"
"To the mother bird," she interrupted, before quickly drinking the juice, leaving Rishi surprised.
"I brought it," Rishi insisted.
"She must've convinced you," Ishika replied with a smirk, then went back to work.
With a huff, Rishi returned to his seat and resumed his work.
Hours later, it was lunchtime.
Rishi and Ishika stood in front of the lift, waiting for it. Seconds later, the lift arrived, and they stepped in.
"Should I call an ambulance already?" Rishi asked, looking ahead with a neutral expression.
"So concerned about him? Would you like to accompany him?" Ishika countered, her face displaying a cold demeanor.
Siddhant sat with his colleagues, having lunch in the cafeteria, but his mind was consumed by thoughts of Ishika. He pondered how to catch her attention, how to initiate a conversation with her, and how to earn her forgiveness.
Lost in his thoughts, he stared blankly at the cafeteria entrance. Suddenly, Ishika appeared in his line of sight.
His brows knit in confusion. "Isn't she fasting today? Why is she here in the cafeteria?" he wondered to himself.
"Ishika entered the cafeteria, not sparing a glance at anyone as she made her way to a guy laughing with two others in the corner.
"Hey, Abhay!" Ishika greeted with false sweetness, causing Abhay to turn and look at her.
"Remember me?" Her voice turned cold, matching her expression.
Without giving Abhay a chance to respond, Ishika grabbed his collar and began dragging him out of the cafeteria.
"What the hell are you doing?" Abhay struggled to free himself.
"Let go of me. You'll regret this," he threatened.
"I said let go or you'll regret it," he repeated, but Ishika paid no heed as she dragged him into the lobby and shoved him into the center.
The commotion caught the attention of everyone present, and soon a crowd formed around them."
Siddhant pushed through the crowd to reach the front, immediately recognizing the guy Ishika was dragging out.
His hand clenched at his side, his jaw tightening. "I should have dealt with this myself," he thought, regretting his decision to hand him over to the guards, whom this guy must have bribed.
Rishi stood beside him, his hands buried deep in his pockets, wearing a carefree expression as if he anticipated what was about to happen.
Abhay scanned the crowd surrounding him, gritting his teeth as he locked eyes with Ishika, who regarded him with cold detachment.
