Gabriel laid on his bed in his dorm room. Since his unexpected encounter with Judith that day at the amusement park, he couldn't get his mind off her.
The thought of Judith with another guy, for some reason, didn't sit well with him.
It bothers him to see her so close to whoever that male is.
"What is his name? That guy knows my name, but I don't know his. I feel like I have seen him somewhere. Maybe from a previous gathering arranged by my father..."
I have got to find out who he is. I can ask my friends later if they know who he is.
His mind then returned to Judith. There is one thing he had been wondering about her.
"Judith...what have you been up to?"
Since the dissolvement of the engagement, that girl sat far away from him in the classes they shared, and she never attempted to interact with him again since that day. He even never see her pass him in the hallways. It seems she is truly avoiding him.
But Gabriel couldn't wrap his head that she no longer felt anything for him. Judith loved him for years. Did a slap really change her feelings for him in a heartbeat? He was only trying to correct her behavior against her sister.
Different scenarios played in Gabriel's mind as he tried to make sense of Judith's behavior until suddenly, he thought of something that raise his suspicions.
"It must be all an act!" Gabriel jolted up from his bed, sitting upright.
"It makes so much sense! She is trying to play a sort of game with me in order to attempt to make me jealous!"
Gabriel's heart raced with this new theory. His mind spun as he considered the possibilities. It seems Judith is more cunning than he thought. She might be trying to manipulate him. It has to be a ploy to test his feelings. Despite the engagement already annulled, she is likely trying to gauge if he cares enough to fight for her and have the engagement reinstated.
"Yes, that's it," Gabriel muttered to himself. "She is trying to see if I care enough to chase after her."
Hah! If she believes I would miss her or something, she is dead wrong!
Convinced that he was on the right track, Gabriel decided he needed to confront Judith directly. Once he sees her again, he will call her bluff on her act. He quickly grabbed his phone and sent a message to his friends on the group chat, asking if they have any information on that guy she was with.
Hey, can you guys help me find out if there is anyone Judith has been hanging out with lately? Need to figure something out.
After sending his message, he got up and paced around his dorm room, trying to calm his raving thoughts.
Seconds later, his phone buzzed. It was Jericho who responded back.
Sure, but shouldn't you no longer be concerned with her? You both are no longer engaged to each other.
Gabriel texted back a reply: I didn't tell you any of you guys this but...I actually saw her that time at the amusement park.
It was Marko's turn to respond: Wait...what?!
Then Hollister: Are you serious bro?! Was it when you were alone with Verona?!
Gabriel: Yes.
Jericho: How come you didn't tell us? Was she alone?
Gabriel: I wanted to forget seeing her. My conversation with her was awful. And she was with a guy I didn't recognized, but he recognized me. That relates to why I am asking you guys to find out who Judith hangs out with now. I think she is up to something.
Jericho: Okay, I'll find out who she hangs out with. I think I have seen her enter the computer club room a few times.
Hollister: Computer club? Why would she go there? That sounds like where the geeks hang out!
Marko: I agree. Why would a plastic Barbie like her go to the computer club?
Computer club? Gabriel thought. What the hell has she been doing there? That girl is too dumb to know anything about computers.
Gabriel: I don't know, but just find out what she has been up to and who she hangs out with. Her behavior is too suspicious for me.
Jericho: Alright, I got you. I'm the one who actually sees her come in and out of that room.
Gabriel: Thanks man.
