After school Jack comes home the smell of blood

Some of his senses were weaker than others, but his nose was the strongest of them all

He follows the scent to find his mother, on the ground bleeding right in her chest with a note on the floor and a knife in her hand

"Mom!" Jack's eyes tear up immediately as he falls to his knees and reads the note

Dear Jack, I'm so sorry for not being a good mother. I should've taken better care of you. None of this was your fault, you are a smart kind and loving boy, this is my own fault and punishment for my poor motherhood. Please grow up to be a good person. Make friends and live a good life, I love you Jack I always will love you.

Jack's eyes water even more as he hugs his lifeless mother tight. Her body was cold. And she was not breathing.

Jack calls the cops

When they arive Jack explains the situation to which the cops call the ambulance for his mother, he already knew there was no saving her but ok

"Well Jack, is there any other family member that you are close with?" The police officer asks

Come to think of it, no. Jack never saw any other family member, not even his dad but he was never told that story

But wait- how does the officer know his name

"No, I don't know any other family member, sorry" Jack says

"No no don't be sorry Jack, infact I knew your mother, brave one she was. She served in the military, she was the youngest soldier there. But also the most valuable. She was smart, and she knew how to handle every situation. I think I remember her meeting your father when he joined. But he unfortunately died due to a shot in the heart. It's in your family tree y'know?" The cop says

"What's in the family tree sir?"

"Serving in the military!" Oh

Jack was thinking about his mother, her fast reflexes and how she really COULD handle every situation. But that was before the news.

Jack suddenly heard yelling

"Jack!" Alexa?

"Jack what Happened?! Are you ok"

He just stood there, it was if he was frozen. He was in shock. But he was still somehow able to cry

As tears stream down his face all Alexa could do was try her best to comfort him.

"Oh Jack. I'm so sorry for your loss. Everything will be ok. I promise.." she nearly whispers the last part because she wasn't sure if everything would be ok

Will he go to an orphanage?

Will he have to live alone?

Or even worse, be evicted.

There was no telling the future but no matter what Jack would make his mother proud

As Jack finally seems to calm down he begins to talk

"I-i Dont know why, why did this happen?" Jack says his head literally spinning in circles as if he's looking at the loading screen going in circles. He doesn't know why he feels so empty. Like nothing mattered anymore

Suddenly he just couldn't take it, he falls on the ground unconscious

"Jack!" Alexa was the last thing he heard before he had blacked out

Jack woke up in the hospital. The only one who was there was Alexa

"Jack, you're awake" she says while holding his hand
