Dynos
"Well... I'd rather try than let a demon like you kill me."
Those were the last words Devin said to him before she walked off the bridge in her pajamas.
Dynos adjusted his jaw and nearly grinned. She had a good left hook. It only made him feel better about the whole situation. He deserved that from her this time, and he knew. This time he would have to stay away for more than a month. That was what her reaction told him.
He arrived home, satisfied that he had finally made her cave. It might take a long while, considering her rage, but he would be able to go home soon. Wherever that was. The place he called home was a distant and happy memory. He didn't know where home was. It was more of an instinct than a true knowledge of it. It was just like how animals knew to hunt. They don't know the true origin of their lifestyle, just that they need meat. Not that he considered himself an animal. Devin probably thought of him that way.
The devil or demon, as she would usually suggest he was. It wasn't her fault either. He was being a brute. No man should have to treat a lady that way. She really did look like one at the reunion. That was the only time he could feel that she wanted him there, like he was needed by her. All that was ruined now. He could still remember the hatred on her face as she said her parting words. She was going to show him hell.
He dropped his keys on the counter. He froze.
She was here again.
" Hello Darling, you're home." The woman said in an excited voice.
" Para..." Dynos stared at the blonde woman like she was a plague. At least, that was what she was to him. " Are you here to scold me?"
She waved him off. " As if you ever cared about what I have to say," A glass of wine appeared in her hand. She took a small sip, " You've done it now. She's furious with you."
" She hates me." he added as he collapsed into the hammock across from her.
Para frowned at him. "You say that as if you actually care."
" I do." He confesses, " I didn't think that I would go that far."
" You always go that far. Every time you meet someone that interest you. This time will be fun for sure." She had more of her drink at the end of her comment.
Dynos frowned this time. Para, otherwise known as Paradeisos, meaning paradise. She was what a normal human would call an 'It girl'. She was everything a woman wanted to be and more. But under the facade she wore, she was a true bitch. A terrible one in fact. Especially to him.
She knew everything about him. Including things the memories that he doesn't have anymore. She was the holder of all his past memories. He had met her when he found himself in Ireland, confused and dazed, several decades ago. And even though he had no memories, he felt a familiar with her. It wasn't in her nature to stick around though, but whenever she showed up like this, she stuck around. For an annoyingly long period of time.
A sly grin formed on Para's face. She stood up from where she the seat and glided her way over to him. Suddenly, no surprise to Dynos, she was crawling into the hammock. She rested her head on his chest and cuddled up against him. "You know... I can hear what you're thinking."
He just lied there with his eyes closed. A sigh escaped his lips as he thought of the long night ahead of him. "Should I be scared?"
She straddled him and giggled. "Certainly darling."
