Elena arrived early at Blackwood Enterprises, eager to prove herself in her second week. The sleek, modern office was already bustling with activity. She settled at her desk, just outside Lucas Blackwood's office, and began sorting through emails and calendar appointments.

Her focus was interrupted by a soft ping—an incoming message from Lucas.

Please join me in my office when you arrive. We need to discuss this week's agenda.

Elena's heart skipped a beat. Although Lucas had been professional and courteous during her first week, his intense gaze and commanding presence never failed to unsettle her. She quickly gathered her notes and took a deep breath before knocking on his office door.

"Come in," his deep voice called from within.

She entered to find Lucas standing by the window, looking out over the city. He turned to face her, his piercing blue eyes locking onto hers. "Good morning, Elena."

"Good morning, Lucas," she replied, striving to keep her voice steady.

"Please, have a seat," he said, gesturing to the chair in front of his desk.

As she sat down, Lucas returned to his own seat and leaned forward, his gaze never leaving hers. "I wanted to discuss a few important items for this week," he began, his tone businesslike. "We have several high-profile meetings, and I need you to ensure everything runs smoothly."

Elena nodded, jotting down notes as he outlined the schedule. She was determined to prove herself, to show Lucas that she was capable of handling the demands of this job. As he spoke, she couldn't help but notice the way his eyes seemed to linger on her, as if he was searching for something.

"Any questions?" Lucas asked, breaking her train of thought.

"No, I think I've got everything," Elena replied, meeting his gaze.

"Good," Lucas said, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "I have high expectations, Elena. But I have no doubt you can meet them."

"Thank you, Lucas. I'll do my best," she said, feeling a surge of confidence.

As she stood to leave, Lucas' voice stopped her. "One more thing, Elena."

She turned back to face him, her heart racing. "Yes?"

"There's an important document I need you to look over. It's in the confidential files. I trust you can handle it discreetly."

"Of course," Elena said, nodding. "I'll get right on it."

"Good," Lucas said, his eyes gleaming with approval. "Thank you, Elena."

As she left his office, she couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more behind his request. But for now, she had a job to do, and she was determined to excel.

Back at her desk, Elena searched through the confidential files until she found the document Lucas had mentioned. It was an old, worn folder marked "Confidential." As she opened it, her curiosity grew. The file contained detailed reports about various incidents involving Lucas over the past few years—strange occurrences, unexplained injuries, and unusual activity. The more she read, the more questions she had.

Why was Lucas involved in so many dangerous situations? And why did these reports seem to hint at something more, something... supernatural?

Lost in thought, Elena didn't notice Lucas approaching her desk. "Elena, what are you looking at?" he asked, his voice startling her.

She looked up, her heart pounding. "I found this file. It was mixed in with some other documents. I didn't mean to pry."

Lucas' expression darkened as he took the file from her. "This is classified information. It's not something you should be reading."
