That someone clutched her neck so tightly that she fainted.
When she woke up, she was already tied with ropes.
It was a crescent moon night, but there was very less light in the old, broken warehouse.
"So you really are Harper Kil. How pitiful you have become." she heard. There was a boy in the shadows on her left side.
"Open the ropes." Harper said.
The boy sighed. "Like that's going to happen. Here, take this food and eat it".
Harper didn't move. Later, almost at midnight, when the boy went away, she crawled to the plate. It had some sandwiches in it.
Just who in the world gives their victim fresh food?
Everyday, that boy would come in the morning and evening and give her food. She was never able to see his face as he was covering himself in a cloth. This went on for two weeks, until one day, he didn't come.
Whenever he used to come, he wiped out all the snow, but since he hadn't came since last night, the warehouse was covered in snow. Only Harper's one leg was tied to the wall and her hands were tied to each other, she used to move here and there to escape the snow, but it was too much today.
She looked at the sky. It was a new moon night. A shard of starlight was falling from the sky. With all the power left in her, she rose her hand and tried to hold the star.
She was freezing to death.
She opened her eyes. She was lying on the ground and was covered in a blanket. The snow had been wiped. "Are you okay?" the boy was sitting beside her. His eye was swollen as if someone had hit him.
Harper sat up. She realised something was flowing on her face... something warm.
"Hey, hey, I'm really sorry I didn't come! Now please don't cry!" he said.
Harper sobbed. All the emotions locked inside her since ten years were coming out.
Whereas, the boy looked horrified. He didn't knew what to do in this situation. He kept apologizing as he tried to wipe off her tears. His arm rubbed his own face and his mask fell of.
And behind that mask was - Nov Peks.
"N-Nova?" she said. Nova gasped. "Why?"
He understood what she was asking, but he didn't tell her anything.
The food he used to bring was reduced. He didn't tell the reason, but he came and sat there with her for hours.
And Harper used to talk to him.
For the first time in her life she had opened her heart completely to anybody. Nova also told her his story. How much force his parents were putting on him and how much he was stressed.
Everything was as well until one day. There were police sirens outside. Nova had came running in a few minutes ago and had already opened the ropes. "Come behind me." he said. When Harper resisted, he held her hand and pulled her.
They went to the top floor of the building when Harper was said "Let me go! Why do you even think I will stay here?"
"Please Harper, I beg you, for me!" Nova said.
Harper sighed. Either way, they would be just found in a few minutes, so listening to him was okay. They both hid behind a huge drum.
Nova was shivering badly. Harper was right. In a few minutes, there was sound of people coming up the stairs.
"I can't take this anymore!" Nova whispered and got up. He was walking towards the railing when Harper understood what he was trying to do. She got up and tried to pull him back, but he was way more stronger than her.
She had no other choice left. (Believe me!) The police were still far away to stop him. She turned him back and kissed him.
Nova was shocked, but the trick worked. They both were sitting on the ground when the police came.
It turned out that Nova's parents had found out that she was there and they were trying to take down her father's buisness by using her as a victim.
But why in the world would her father care about her? She thought we she was sitting in the police station. She didn't knew why they were making her sit there. Half an hour later, a man with small black hair entered. The same one whom she had seen in the street. She had completely forgotten about that time. Her jaw dropped on seeing his face. He was Vincent Kil. Her father. What was he even doing here?
"How are you doing, Harper dear?" He asked.
Harper's mind blew off. What the fuck was he talking about?
"That's the first thing you say to your daughter whom you abandoned years ago?" she screamed.
Her father told her that the Peks had played a dirty game to get him arrested and bring his business down, so he had to give her in the orphanage. When he got out, they tried to kidnap Harper who was nowhere to be found and they used Nova to do this. They were arrested now.
Nova, on the other hand, was a good person who didn't wanted all this to happen. With her and her father's request, they reduced the sentence to one month. Thus, this story has a happy ending.
