"Hi there, can I just grab an Americano to go, please? Thank you!"

I pulled out my credit card and paid for my drink.

I was currently situated at a cafe near the dorm as I wanted to grab a quick cup of coffee before heading to the dance studio.

With my headphones on, I was zoned in on my music and did not care about my surroundings at all.

"I bring, I bring all the Drama-ma-ma-ma..."

Still lost in my world while waiting for my order to be done, I decided to scroll through my social media pages.

*Ding*

New Message from Jay

Jay is one of my best friends whom I met during my third year as a trainee. Both of us were known as two peas in a pod due to how close we were.

"Heyy broo, you better make your way to the studio now. CEO-nim is here for some reason. Be quick!"

Seeing this, I began to wonder what the special occasion was today.

Nothing was said to me before today so I wonder if it's just a random check-in by the CEO.

Regardless, I quickly grabbed my Americano and began making the 10-minute journey to the studio in the SM Entertainment building.

The moment I stepped into the studio, I could sense a tense atmosphere in the air. Many of the other trainees were already there, nearly all of them wore a nervous look.

Quickly spotting Jay, I made my way next to him and settled down.

Y/n- What's going on? Have they said anything?

I whispered to him.

Jay- No, they have been silent since they came in. They only told all of us to get seated. Possibly announcing something?

I nod my head as I observe the CEO standing next to what looks like four more senior-looking staff members.

CEO- Alright, it looks like everyone is here now so let's begin!

He claps his hand which garners the attention of everyone.

CEO- Well I am sure all of you are wondering why I am here today so allow me to clear the air.

He takes a breath before continuing.

CEO- As you all know, there have been rumors spreading around about us looking for a new addition to one of our groups. I can confirm with you all that the rumor is true.

A loud unified gasp resounds around the studio.

I look at Jay and he looks at me, both of us wearing a surprised look.

CEO- And I already know some of you have your questions to ask but let me answer some of the common questions I can forsee.

He pulls out a sheet of paper and begins reading off it.

CEO- I know many of you are wondering why we need a new addition to aespa and to answer that, we noticed a recent decline of interest in aespa due to the competition of girl groups in Korea, hence we decided that having a new member would attract new fans which would boost the reputation of aespa.

CEO- We have already spoken with the girls and they have unanimously agreed with us in this decision.

Suddenly Jay raises his hand.

Jay- So if you are trying to find a new addition to aespa, what's the purpose of boys being here?

I nod my head, agreeing with his question.
