2012 : Actually What happened:

The neon lights of the streetlamps cast long, distorted shadows as Shreya walked outside her  home in that same blue top, her hair cascading down her back, her headphones on, lost in her music, the crisp night air a welcome change after the stifling with cases at CID office on her first day. She was still buzzing from the excitement of her first day, a mix of nerves and anticipation swirling within her.

she strolled across the sidewalk, humming along to the music in her walkman and stopped at a busy crossroads, waiting for the signal, completely oblivious to the looming danger - a massive signboard, threatening to fall. The walkman stopped working as she took a 1 step ahead banging the walkman.

Suddenly, a horrifying crack split the silence. A massive billboard, its rusted supports yielding to the night's winds, came crashing down. Shreya barely had time to register the danger before she was thrown to the ground, a searing pain ripping through her leg.

She lay there, gasping, the world tilting around her. The cacophony of her own screams filled her ears as she desperately tried to move. With a shaky hand, she pulled out her phone, but the screen was cracked, the call for help an impossible act.

Until a week, Shreya lay in a hospital bed, her leg immobilized in a cast. The memory of the incident was a nightmare she couldn't shake. The initial frenzy of the emergency room had given way to quiet introspection. She had managed to inform her office about her emergency leave, but the details remained vague - an unfortunate accident, she said, a bruised confusion thinking about that one step she took when her walkman stopped working, if that did not happen then inplace of her leg it would have been her head and she would have been dead by now, she jerked her head pushing the thoughts away and a battered leg.
