*In the car*

The two men remain silent, both observing each other secretly, waiting for a topic to arise.

"Ahem.. so how long have you two known each other?" Davina's dad asks Jordan.

"Not long, about six months now sir." Jordan responds.

"You don't have to call me sir. Just call me dad like she does, okay?" He says, still observing Jordan and waiting to hear his response.

"Okay..dad." Jordan says.

"That's it." Davina's dad responds sounding satisfied.

"What do you do? Do you work?" He asks Jordan.

Jordan feeling slightly suspicious at the direction the conversation is going says calmly "Yes.. I do work. I'm a designer. A graphic artist rather."

"Oh.. that's good, it's something at least." Davina's dad says as he takes a sip of water.

Thinking to himself "Since my daughter likes him, I might as well establish him. It'd be a waste if I can't put him to good use."

"How about I make you an offer?" The man asks, looking at Jordan.

"An offer sir?" Jordan replies.

"Yes an offer.. I have a business I'd like you to manage. With your looks, you seem quite capable. You don't have to worry about funding, all you need to do is carry out orders." The man says trying to sound indifferent.

"If I may ask sir.. what type of business is that?" Jordan asks already having an idea of what it may be.

"Just property management." The man responds sharply.

"Oh.. okay sir.. I mean dad. Thank you, but may I have some time to consider?" Jordan asks politely.

"Sure, but don't keep me waiting for too long." The man says before taking another sip of water.

Silence follows.

"Dad would it be okay if we could stop by at a winery, I wouldn't like to meet mom empty handed." Jordan says sounding quite modest.

"Of course. Mark, remember to pull up at Serene's. They sell excellent wine there." Davina's dad responds and tells Mark, the driver where to stop.

Looking back at Jordan, he begins to feel pleased with the young man.

*Davina's place*

"Mom, when are they gonna be here?" Davina asks her mom nervously.

"Patience my dear daughter.. look how nervous you are. Your dad texted not to long saying they were on they're way." Her mom responded looking at Davina.

"Oh.. okay." Davina says calming herself.

"Do you really like him?" Davina's mom asks her daughter with an enquiring gaze.

"Ding..Dong." the bell rings before Davina could answer.

They both move to open the door.

Opening the door they both see a young man, with dark eyes and fair skin, dressed in a black suit, looking calm and collected.

He looks up greeting with slightly hesitation on their names "Good day... Mom..Davina"

Stunned they both fail to react for a while.

"Ahem..wife this is Jordan." Davina's dad walks from behind and introduces Jordan, bringing them back to reality.

"Jor.. Jordan.. hello welcome to our home, come in." She responds and slowly moves into the living room, welcoming Jordan.

Davina blushing, still slow to react, finally says "Welcome dad.. hey Jordan."

"Hmph." Davina's dad snorts slightly looking at his daughter with a look at you expression.

She hurries into the living room following her mom.

"Come, come Jordan. Sit down." Davina's mom says looking at Jordan feeling quite satisfied with her daughter for finding such a handsome man.

"Thank you Mom. This is for you." Jordan says as he hands a bottle of wine to Davina's mom before taking a seat.

"Mom?" She mutters to herself, feeling surprised and happy.

"Shall we eat? I'm quite starved honey." Davina's dad says to his wife.

"Okay, alright. Davina, please let the kitchen know to start serving." She tells Davina.

Davina without a word walks gracefully to the kitchen leaving the three of them together, already knowing what's about to happen.

"So Jordan, Davina tells me you've been together for quite a while now. How do you see her?" Davina's mom asks Jordan.

"If I must say, Davina.. Davina, she's been very good to me. She's a rare gem, pretty, smart.. caring. To be honest, words fail me. I really can't tell you how much of a wonderful person she is." Jordan responds with sincerity, glancing at the direction Davina left.

Feeling slightly satisfied with his answer, her parents proceed with inquiring about him and their daughter, trying to know what they needed to know.

"Ding." The waitress rings the mini bell to notify the couple and Jordan that food has been served.

They all move to the dining and prepare to eat.
