-BEEP BEEP BEEP- "ugh," I let out softly. I turned off my alarm. I stretch as I walk into the bathroom, examining my messing hair.
"Holy shit." I say to myself. I get in the shower, making the water almost completely hot. I wash my hair and my body. I sat on the floor of the shower, thinking, then realized I can't be late. Not for school on the first day. Ever since I moved back, it's been hell, but hopefully I can make a friend or two.
I put on a green Billabong shirt I stole from my dad and a pair of cargo pants. I tuck in one side and start my hair and makeup. I curl my hair and do light makeup, not trying to look like I tried too hard, even though I totally did
. I go down stairs to grab a granola bar and take my keys, and leave. Hopefully my mom was asleep. She would be pissed if I just left the house without saying goodbye.
-TIME SKIP-
Before I get out of the car, I double check to make sure I have my schedule and map of the school. I put it in my pocket and got out.
I couldn't find the entrance so I scrambled in my pocket for my map, then I felt someone bump into me. I look up, and I see who it is. Christopher Sturniolo.
"Oh, i'm so sorry" he glances down at mee "watch where you're going next time" I don't think he recognized me, but you never know with that kid.
I find my first class and decide to go in early, because I don't know anyone here, well, at least that would hang out with me. I go up to the desk "Excuse me? Is this Mrs. Anderson's class?" I see the woman look up at me from her book, as she nods.
"Yes, can I help you dear?"
"Yea, I'm new here, and this is supposed to be my first period. My name is Reena Jane." She sets the book down and opens her laptop, silently looking at it.
"Oh yes, you're the new kid, welcome to R-'' she gets cut off by the bells as kids start pouring in.
"Yes ma'am, uhm where should i sit?" I look at her as she looks behind me at all of the empty chairs in the room.
"Go sit beside the young man in the back left desk. His name is chris." no. it can't be. I look back and sure enough, it's none other than Chris, leaning back in his chair on his phone. I walk over pulling out the chair, sitting down, hoping he won't remember me. I stare at him, looking at his defined cheekbones under the light above us, thinking about how well he has aged over the years.
"You can stop staring now, before you make me blush" I looked away nervously. I guess he truly hasn't changed since I last saw him in 6th grade.
Mrs. Anderson starts speaking, saying how we will be doing an assignment with a partner. A kid I don't know calls out "can we pick our partners?"
"No, you will be working with the person beside you.'' I wanted to die, curl up in a ball, die. But I had no choice.
"So, you do the work and I copy?" I look over while he is still leaning back in his chair.
"What? No, I'm not doing all the work."
"cmon, please baby Reena?" My heart drops and my heart starts beating fast. Does he still remember me? After all these years? I'm the one he remembers? Out of all his victims, me?
"W, what?" I say as I stutter.
"Don't play dumb, I remember."
"I don't know what you're talking about, anyway, you're helping with the assignment."
"ugh fine." he whines. It was honestly kind of cute that he still remembers. Oh no. I can't just be like one of his bitches. I knew every girl was head over heels for him, I mean, I can't blame them. Ugh, I can't fall for him.
