Life was peaceful till about a year or so ago when Quaritch returned with his group of recon avatars, starting the war again. At that time, I had moved to the reef to find my true self; while seeking adventure I had also discovered my mate along the way, along with a family of my own. My mate was the little brother of the Tsaik and E'tukan of the Mekeynana clan. His name is Mak'kuro, and he and I had started our own little family. I regret leaving my family behind to fight without me, but my parents encouraged me to go. I was barely pregnant when I last visited but this time, you could tell that I was. It had been roughly two months since I had returned to the forest from my last visit, and I thought that I might as well give the forest a little visit.
I called my Ikran, Nayl from the reef and headed off. Of course, not without my knife and bow. I missed flying so much. When I entered the forest limit, I could hear the shots of gunships being fired and that was when I was rushed with gunships trying to hit Nayl. I was taken by surprise, but I was quick to turn around behind them, making sure my bow and arrow were ready. I shot them before they could me. Continuing to fly through the forest with my bow ready, now on guard. I saw a huge train crash, flying closer to see what was going on. I saw my dad and brothers on the ground, I circled them for a few minutes before I heard my mother make her calling sound. Everyone was riding off on their Ikrans while Neteyam and Lo'ak got caught in the crossfire.
I was about to fly down to grab them, but my father had already done so. I waited to see my brothers and dad fly out of the smoke before flying away as well. As I followed them back to their base, I landed my Ikran on the edge a little away from my parents. I jumped off my Ikran quickly because I needed to know that my brothers were okay. Just before I saw my parents, I heard my sister, Tuk, yell out my name as she was the one who had seen me first.
"Ayiwa! Your back, Your back, Your back!" Tuk yelled running up to me
I picked her up, hugging and placing her on my hip to not put pressure on my belly. "I am. But only for a few hours."
Tuk let out a little annoyed groan "But you've been gone for so long."
I stopped, hugging her closer "Tuk, I promise to not be gone as long this time. But I have things to get back to at the reef."
As soon as I had reached hearing distance from the rest of the family, my mom heard me talking to Tuk and rushed over to hug me with Kiri behind her. I let my mother take Tuk from my arms as I looked at my dad. My father put his hand on my shoulder, touching the scars from the past, as his way of saying he was glad to see me. Once I finished exchanging looks with my father, I turned my gaze onto Neteyam and Lo'ak.
"What the hell were you thinking!" I raised my voice as I frantically looked over Lo'ak and Neteyam's faces and arms
They stood there, shocked not having a thing to say. Finally, Lo'ak hugged me and Neteyam followed behind. Both started talking at the same time. "Why haven't you come to see us?!"
"Well, I was doing things that needed my attention back at the reef." I told them, gently pushing them back a little to create space for my belly
Once everyone had had their chance to ask me all their questions. We settled that evening after we all had calmed down a little, Lo'ak, Spider, and Kiri took a walk while my parents, Neteyam, and I went for a fly. On our flight, they had got a reading from Lo'ak telling them that the kids were in danger. We had thought that a bunch of wild animals had got to them. To our horror we were wrong. Quaritch had taken Lo'ak, Kiri, Spider, and Tuk captive. My parents and I had gone to get them back, fighting them for my siblings, we had got them back without a fuse, but Kiri said that they had captured Spider.
After this, I begged my parents to join me on my return to the reef. They can adapt just like I did, I know they can.
"Please, Mom, just think about it." I pleaded
