Adeline approached the headquarters, her heart pounding in her chest, as she stared at the imposing building in front of her. She felt completely overwhelmed with nerves and excitement, knowing that her new life was about to begin.
She took a deep breath, steeling herself for the challenge ahead. As she entered the double doors, she was met with a rush of unfamiliar sights and sounds, as well as dozens of new people who would soon become her coworkers. As she enclosed on the receptionist a tall brown haired man bumped into her.
"shit, I'm so sorry. Here let me help" Adeline cursed as she bent down to help pick up the sheets of paper that slipped from between his finger tips and onto the counter floor.
"don't worry about it. I'm dr Spencer Reid" he replied with a dorky smile on his face, Adeline went to hold her hand out but he was quick to respond "I'm not one for touch, did you know that there are typically 10,000 and 10 million bacteria on each of your hands. Cross contamination through hand shakes would be ultimately unsanitary, it's probably safer to kiss." Adeline listened to his rambling, nodding along to show she was listening.
"good to know dr Reid, I'm Adeline Walker" she added on the end realising she hadn't formally introduced herself.
"Well it was nice meeting you Adeline, I best get going before I'm late" Spencer said grabbing the sheets of paper out of her hands and re adding them to his pile.
"wait, do you know where agent hotchner office is by any chance?" She asked with hope and desperation.
"wait are you the new agent?" Spencer's face lit up. "the one and only" Adeline resorted with an awkward smile, rubbing her neck in embarrassment.
"follow me, I'll take you there and introduce you to the others" he said leading the way.
"tell me about yourself agent walker" Spencer asked her.
"call me Adeline or Addie, I don't mind which. and what do you want to know?" She responded "where are you from? Hobbies?" He followed on, pressing the elevator button.
"I'm from Florida originally, but I've been travelling for work since I was 18. It was fun at the start but once you've tried all the good restaurants you get bored. So I decided to settle and moved Virginia around 3 months ago." She rambled on to Spencer, a smile perking on her face at the thought of making a new start.
"that's so cool, I've always wanted to travel. You said you started travelling for work at 18? That's quit young, how old are you? If you don't mind me asking" Spencer asked, not trying to pry too hard.
"Yeah, I graduated high school at 14, Collage at 17, nowhere would accept me in the police force at 17 because of my age so I went to higher authority's and they placed me into a special unit where I traveled to local authorised and helped undercover cases. Now I'm 24"
