In the shadowed depths of the Night Kingdom, a secluded cave hidden by the dense foliage of the rainforest served as the secret sanctuary for a NightWing named Selene. Unlike many of her kin, who often reveled in their tribe’s mysterious and secretive nature, Selene found solace in the peaceful isolation of her cove, far from the politics and intrigues of her homeland.

One misty night, while the moon cast a faint glow over the jungle, Selene discovered something unusual. Nestled among the ferns near her cave entrance was a SkyWing egg, its shell a vibrant red with delicate golden streaks. The egg pulsed with warmth, a sign that the dragonet inside was healthy and close to hatching. Selene's heart softened as she carefully carried the egg into her cave, vowing to protect it until its parents could be found—or, if needed, to raise the dragonet herself.

Days turned into weeks, and Selene became more attached to the egg, often imagining the dragonet that would emerge. She knew the SkyWing Kingdom was far from her home, and it puzzled her how the egg had ended up so deep in NightWing territory. Despite her curiosity, Selene focused on providing a safe and nurturing environment for the soon-to-be-hatched dragonet.

One stormy evening, as thunder rumbled in the distance and rain began to fall in torrents, Selene heard a faint, desperate cry for help. Her keen NightWing senses guided her through the storm to the source of the sound. To her shock, she found an IceWing, badly injured, collapsed near her cove. The IceWing's scales, normally a pristine blue-white, were marred with blood and scorch marks—a clear sign of a SkyWing attack.

Selene acted swiftly, her healer instincts taking over. She carefully dragged the IceWing into her cave, where the warmth would prevent the dragon from freezing in the jungle’s humid chill. She then set to work, using her knowledge of herbs and healing techniques to tend to the IceWing’s wounds. Throughout the night, she applied poultices and wrapped the worst injuries, hoping the dragon would survive until morning.

As dawn broke, the IceWing stirred, his ice-blue eyes blinking open to find himself in an unfamiliar cave, with a NightWing tending to his injuries. Panic and confusion flared in his eyes, but Selene spoke softly, trying to soothe him.

"You're safe here," she said gently. "My name is Selene. I found you injured outside my cove. You’ve been attacked by SkyWings, haven’t you?"

The IceWing nodded weakly, his voice a raspy whisper. "Yes... My name is Archer. I was on a patrol near the SkyWing border when they ambushed me. I managed to escape, but I lost my way and ended up here."

Selene continued her care, her gentle touch easing Archer’s pain. "Rest now, Archer. You're safe here. I’ll do everything I can to help you heal."

Over the following days, Archer’s condition slowly improved under Selene’s watchful care. As he regained his strength, the two dragons grew closer, sharing stories of their respective tribes and forging an unexpected bond. Selene’s nurturing nature and Frost’s gratitude created a foundation of trust and friendship between them.

One evening, as the sun set and cast a warm glow over the cave, the SkyWing egg began to hatch. Selene and Archer watched in awe as a tiny, vibrant SkyWing dragonet emerged, its scales gleaming like embers. The dragonet looked up at Selene with wide, innocent eyes, and she felt an overwhelming sense of love and protectiveness.
