Kyungsoo loved Jongin. From head to toes. Especially that smile, it sent the cupid's arrow right through his heart.
Kyungsoo was madly in love and nothing could change it.
Jongin returned the feeling doubled, as if his heart had grown a size. Though sometimes, during endless nights, Kyungsoo's heart trembled with doubts
What if something happened and took their love away? It was fragile, like a flower, it needed care and affection to grow into something pretty and noticeable.
Those thoughts crept up and wouldn’t leave.
Only when Jongin wrapped his arms around his waist and whispered “I love you” so lovingly, only then Kyungsoo was free of any stupid thoughts.
“You know, in the future when we get married, I will make sure not a single tear falls down your cheeks,” Jongin caressed Kyungsoo's cheek.
Kyungsoo reacted immediately, snuggling closer like a moth drawn to the flame.
“And I will be the best husband in return,” The shorter one hid his face in his lover's neck only to let out a whine when the warmth disappeared.
“I got you something,” Jongin fished out a small object from his jeans pocket.
Tears treathened to fall.
Jongin pressed their palms together, allowing the heart-shaped necklace to fall across his lover's fingers.
“It has no picture in yet,” Jongin sounded apologetic.
“We can fix that,” Kyungsoo remembered about his aunt's gift and promise to capture beautiful memories.
“Smile,” Kyungsoo attempted not to blink as the camera produced a blinding flash.
Soft laughter escaped his lips once Jongin's lips reached his heated skin.
“You are so adorable,” Kyungsoo ruffled the tan male's hair playfully as the picture developed.
The end result was better than both of them expected.
“Give it to me,” Jongin said, inspecting the picture up close before ripping it in half.
Kyungsoo's heart didn’t manage to crack as the half featuring Jongin landed in his hands.
“The necklace is supposed to be in half. We will have each other right next to our heart,”Jongin pressed his forehead against Kyungsoo's.
“Always?” The shorter one asked.
“Always,” the answer allowed Kyungsoo's heart to go in a peaceful slumber after the small rollercoaster ride.
Night arrived early, different shadows playing on Jongin's face.
Kyungsoo hated to see his boyfriend leave but that was alright, they had a new day awaiting them anyways.
His eyes were half shut and mind blank when a soft thud reached his ears.
Kyungsoo was about to shout at whoever interrupted his road to dreamland when he noticed Jongin.
He looked like an angel with broken wings, tears streaming down his cheeks.
The first time Jongin.had ever cried in front of Kyungsoo.
“What is wrong, my love?” Kyungsoo patted Jongin's back once the male stepped in.
There was something in his pocket. A piece of paper, crumpled in what looked like someone's poor attempt at crafting a rose.
“They want me to go to war,” Jongin's usual raspy voice was hoarse and had sharp edges, cutting deep into Kyungsoo's heart.
