Shin Haseul is many things-an idol, a member of arguably the biggest girl group Blackpink, in the world, the first Korean artist to win a Grammy, a talented songwriter, the Nation's First Love, the face of many brands and one of the most loved and hated celebrities in the world.

Shin Haseul is many things but out of everything, she's not a lover.

As an idol, Shin Haseul knows that love is just not for her.

For god's sake, she has written the song Lovesick Girls for her group and the lyrics perfectly represent her predicament with love.

We are the lovesick girls, but we're born to be alone-the song goes like this and for Haseul, it's the truth. No matter how much she loves, in the end it'll always end up with her being alone. And as much as she wants to experience the pure bliss that comes with loving another person, Haseul is too dedicated to her job as an idol to even think about jeopardising her career by falling in love. The very job which has put shackles around her freedom as an individual. She has fallen in love once before and it had made everything burn and crash and after that she had promised herself to never let it happen again.

It's because love ruins things for people like her. Love locks people like her in a windowless room, it leaves them full of hatred and scars. Love, for her, is slipping and falling. Love, for her, is killing your darling. And when the pain heals, the fearless trembling comes back again because even if it hurts again and again, without the pain she's nothing.

Haseul is done with love and anything related to the prospect of falling for another person.

But all her resolutions regarding love go down the drain when she becomes the first ever brand ambassador of the car brand, McLaren and bumps into their golden boy, the newest addition to the F1 racing season, Oscar Piastri.

And in the blink of a crinkling eye, Haseul finds herself back in high school, feeling like someone who has just experienced their first crush.

Shin Haseul is many things but she's not a lover-and maybe Oscar Piastri might just change that.
