Hugh's POV
As Adelaine and I arrive at work, Nate comes over to us, looking excited. He must have our latest film to work on, excellent! Nate is holding a manilla folder with notes and papers peeking out of it. I smile at Nate who opens up the folder.
"How are you two today?" Nate asks.
"We're doing great! How are you, Nate?" Adelaine returns.
"I'm well. I have your next assignment, Adelaine." He says.
"This assignment is just for Adelaine?" I wonder, raising an eyebrow at Nate, starting to get confused.
"Well, the casting director begged me to book Adelaine for this movie," Nate replies.
"What about me?" I query.
"You... don't fit the main male role." He states.
"It's not a romantic movie, is it?" I interrogate.
"It's more of a rom-com, although it is more heavier on the romantic side." Nate answers.
"I've never acted in a romance film without Hugh as my male romantic interest," Adelaine mutters.
"I don't want anyone kissing my wife, even if it's just acting." I huff.
"You don't fit the male role though..." Nate repeats.
"What do you mean by that? What does the main character of this film have that I don't?" I inquire, crossing my arms across my chest.
Nate bites his lip. "The main male character is a plus-size man, that of you aren't."
"How heavy? I can put on a few pounds." I hum.
"Hugh, that doesn't sound like a good idea," Adelaine says.
"Adelaine, I don't want anyone being romantic with you on film other than me." I declare.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Nate questions.
"Yep! No one's kissing my wife except me." I reply.
"Hugh... I really don't think you should do this..." My wife pleads.
"Honey, nothing's going to change my mind. I'm going to put on some weight so I can act by your side once more." I say.
She sighs. "I know nothing is changing your mind, Hugh, but you better be careful."
"I'll be fine. What could be the worst that could happen?" I assure her.
"I can see if I can go pull some strings with the casting director for you, Hugh," Nate promises.
"Thank you, Nate," I respond.
Nate walks off. Some fancy producer and director walk up to Nate and the three begin talking. They're too far away for me to hear them, although I can see both the producer and director looking at me and turning back to talk to Nate. Nate turned on his heels, smiling as he came back over to the two of us.
"I've pulled some strings and you, Hugh, are now the new main male role of the movie!" Nate said.
"That's great!" I beam.
"Can we get some more information about the movie? Like our characters, the plot, the title of the movie, etc?" Adelaine queries.
"Sure, just let me read through this information I have here," Nate says, sifting through the papers in the manilla folder and begins reading. "This movie is called Hefty Heart. You have your female main character, Penelope, and your male main character Nelson. She's seeking a boyfriend and joins a dating app. Nelson, although hopeless, joins the same dating app as a last resort, if he can't find love on this app he might as well give up. The two matched on the app and began chatting, although Nelson was using fake pictures, which were old when he was skinnier. They talk and form a strong relationship and bond. Although nervous to meet up, Nelson met up with Penelope. Penelope was shocked by the difference in his appearance, but their relationship was genuine enough to where Penelope didn't care about the weight difference, staying together and seemingly falling more in love than they ever were."
