Helix Entertainment Teases New Girl Group "XOX" in Latest Video: Will This Be a Second Try After 2014 Scandal?

      Helix Entertainment, one of the most prolific and influential Korean companies is branching out with their newest project: XOX, a girl group. This comes as a shock to most Neitzens, including myself; Helixs' very own CEO, Bok Hyun Min, swore against anything relating to the music industry ever since the damning end of their first attempt to integrate into the music industry in 2014.

     Need a reminder of what took place that year? No worries, I'll catch you up! In 2012, Helix debuted their first ever boy group: the seven-member ensemble that went by "DTM" aka "Drop the Mic". Showing promise, the boys skyrocketed their way to the top of the music charts with impressive raps, catchy beats, and jaw dropping vocals. It's safe to say they were an automatic hit and were projected to rival big names such as 2PM and BIGBANG.

     However, the success came to a halt in December of 2014 when the sins of the members were revealed in a shocking smear campaign against the band. Turns out, four out of seven of the members were partaking in illegal activity such as drug dealing and misconduct with sexual harassment. Their manager also partook in money laundering schemes, paying half of the group exponentially more than the innocent members. All of this took place right under the nose of Bok Hyun Min, a highly respected industry mogul.

     The smear campaign was sent out and consequently the members involved were arrested and imprisoned for varying time sentences, the longest one being sentenced to eleven years. Their manager was sentenced to a chilling thirty years for embezzling upwards of three millions dollars from the company.

     Not only did the delinquents face jail time, the scandal affected the reputations of the remaining members and the whole company, so much so that Bok Hyun Min expired all contracts in order to scrape up what was left of his dignity. Only just a few years ago in 2021 did we see the mogul reinstate multiple clients under things such as modeling and acting.

     However, it seems as though Mr. Bok is attempting to reintegrate his business once again into the industry with XOX. Will it be a massive bumblefuck this time around or has Mr. Bok actually hired individuals who aren't pieces of crap? Only time will tell!
