Lorenzo took a deep breath before stepping out of his car. As he walked towards the door, flowers in hand, he felt kind of dizzy. Did he eat something? Was he just nervous? Probably just nervous, right? He knocked thrice on the door and waited. A few seconds later he heard a low woman's voice speak, "Coming!", and soon a girl opened the door. Evelynn. The first thing he noticed when trailing his eyes all over her was her long, icy blonde hair. Then her eyes, he was sure they could pierce through the bravest of men. Her dress was just beautiful, a royal blue v-line with a loose skirt that ended just above her knees. Snap out of it. "Oh- uh.. hi. You're Evelynn, I'm assuming?" The girl chuckled, "Yes. "Yes, I am." Lorenzo held out the bouquet of colorful roses. "I got these for you." Evelynn smiled as she took the flowers from him, "Thank you! Do you mind if I bring these inside before we leave?" Lorenzo shook his head no. Evelynn opened the door and gestured for him to come inside, though he stopped right inside the door. Evelyn walked further into her home and put the flowers in a glass vase filled with water. As she put the vase down, she spoke "Okay, I'm ready to go." The two walked to the car, and Lorenzo opened the door for Evelynn with a slight bow, "M'lady." he said jokingly. Evelynn chuckled and sat down in the passenger seat. Lorenzo walked around the car and sat in the driver's seat, he then started driving in silence.

"So.." he chuckled awkwardly after a moment. Evelynn turned to him, waiting for him to continue. "Sorry for being a nervous wreck, I haven't been on a proper date in like ten years." he chuckled again. "Oh no, don't worry! I've just got a poker face, I'm just as nervous as you." Evelynn answered quickly. "Wait, ten years?" she continued. "Yeah, I uh.. took a while to get over my last girlfriend." Lorenzo chuckled. "Yeah, I can tell." The two laughed for a moment. "Can I ask what happened?" Lorenzo paused, "I'd rather not talk about it." Evelynn nodded understandingly, "Ofcourse, don't worry about it." They drove the rest of the way in silence.

As the car came to a stop, Lorenzo hurried out of the car to open the door for Evelynn, which caused her to laugh, "Such a gentleman." she said jokingly. Lorenzo smiled sheepishly in response. After he closed the door, he held out his arm, which Evelynn took with a smile. The two walked into the very fancy looking restaurant, and Lorenzo rang the little bell at the reception. An older woman dressed in a white blouse, black pants and an apron walked up to the stand, "Hello, how can I help you today?" Lorenzo smiled, "We have a booking for two, last name Altamura." The woman looked through the register and nodded, "It looks like I'll be your server today, then! If you would just follow me to your table." she waved them over. They got seated at a table in the corner of the restaurant. The table had a white cloth covering it, menus on both sides, and a candle in the middle. "I'll give you two a minute to decide on drinks." the woman nodded and walked off.

Evelynn and Lorenzo both picked up their respective menu and looked through it. Lorenzo sighed, "Any ideas?" Evelynn glanced at the menu again before looking up, "I could do with a bottle of wine." she chuckled, "D'you feel like sharing one?" Lorenzo nodded, "Yeah, sure. Could use a bit of a boost, anyway." Evelynn laughed at that.

The waitress walked by and Lorenzo raised his hand a bit, "Excuse me? We're ready for drinks, if you've got time." The waiter made a U-turn and stopped at their table, "What can I get you?" Now Evelynn spoke up, "We'll share a bottle of your red '74, please." The waiter nodded and wrote it down, "Red '74, anything else?" Evelynn glanced at Lorenzo and gave him a questioning look before speaking again, "No, I think we're good for now, thanks." The waiter nodded again, "Alright, I'll be right back with a bottle and a couple glasses for you."

The waiter walked off once more and Evelynn turned back to Lorenzo, "Wow, I'm impressed." she congratulated. Lorenzo frowned, "Of what?" "The way you treated the waitress. Most boys I go out with just snap their fingers until they come over." Lorenzo's frown deepened, "That's terrible! People never did that to me when I was a waiter." Evelynn tilted her head knowingly, "That's 'cause you're a man." "I- what?" Lorenzo laughed confusedly. "You're a man." Evelynn repeated. "Oh, sexism and stuff?" Lorenzo confirmed. Evelynn laughed, "Yes, sexism and stuff." Lorenzo laughed as well. An awkward silence covered the table, then Evelynn laughed. Lorenzo made a confused face, "What?" Evelynn shook her head, "Nothing, nothing. I just don't do well with silence."
