Chapter 3

Once Hinata awoke from his nap it was already 4 pm. Only about 3 hours to spare until the neighbors arrived. The orange haired boy only laid in bed, lost in his thoughts. However that didn't last long as he heard his phone ringing, which was now lying somewhere in his bed amongst all the covers.

Phone now being in the orange haired boy's hand, he answered the call without looking who it was.

"Hello?" On the other end there was a bunch of rustling before someone yelled, probably to someone else on the other line - "guys Hinata answered!"

"Wait really? OH MY GOD FINALLY!" There was some more yelling and excited screams on the other line. Now connecting the dots Hinata realized that the people on the other line were his former teammates and friends from Karasuno.

A warm smile flashed across his face until he remembered why they were probably calling him. "Hey guys, it's been a while.."

He could hear the phone being passed around on the other end of the line, until Sugawara had the phone. "Hinata you missed yesterday's and today's practice and Takeda Sensei told us to ask you since he didn't know the full story either, so please enlighten us as to why you're absent?"

'Getting straight to the point I guess..'

Hinata took a deep breath, closing his eyes as he exhaled. "Well uh.. where to start..?"

"Maybe at the beginning?" Tsukishima said it was obvious that he was a little annoyed. "Right.. So when I got home from training camp on Thursday my parents told me they were getting a divorce and well things happened and moments later I was sitting in the car with my mom to drive to our new home."

— same time, gym at Karasuno high school—

All of the players for the Karasuno boys Volleyball team, as well as their two managers, Coach Ukai and Takeda Sensei were sitting in what's supposed to look like a circle around the phone. On the line was their tiny, orange haired middle blocker. Said middle blocker has just told them why he wasn't at practice recently, but it still left some questions unanswered.

"Okay? But that doesn't explain why you missed practice. I mean, it's not like you moved that far away, right?" Kageyama said bluntly, without a care in the world. His question however was answered with silence. "Right?" Yachi asked again, she was fiddling with her hands obviously being nervous to some extent.

"I'm sorry..-" Hinata said after a while, you could hear him taking a deep breath before continuing his sentence "-.. My mom and I have moved to Hyogo. I'll be going to school here."

There was an awkward silence coming from Karasuno. Everyone was shocked by the news. Both Ukai and Takeda Sensei already knew that Hinata moved away but neither of them knew the reasons nor where he moved to. "So what? You couldn't just stay with your father?" Tsukishima asked, breaking the awkward silence amongst his teammates. His voice was more clear now which means that he probably has the phone now.

— same time, in Hinata's room —

'Deep breaths Shouyou.. It's not like you had any choice other than to move away with your mother.'

Hinata was sitting on his bed by now. Blanket moved to the side and the phone on his lap. However before Hinata could answer Tsukishima's question, his mother knocked on his door.

"Hey guys, can I tell you everything another time? I need to help my mom with something. I promise I'll call you back sometime soon!" And with that Hinata pressed the end-call-button. As soon as the call ended his mother opened the door slightly and peeked her head inside.
