He tapped his pen impatiently against the desk. He was drowning out the sounds of his teacher speaking. Class would be over soon and he'd just look at the yearly project online. He'd much rather spend his time staring at her, watching the crease in her brow as the teacher said something, whatever he'd said had confused her and she rarely got confused.
Angel let the sounds around him drown back into his ears, just as his name was being called by Mr. Boman.
"Angel partnered with Violet."
He didn't believe in god but he swore god had blessed him that day. He'd be sure to say a little prayer to the man when he sat in the back of the church this Sunday. He'd also say another prayer, begging for more of the girl he'd so nicely placed into his clutches just now.
Angel dragged his gaze back to Violet. Her pursed lips were spread as she inhaled and exhaled. The expression on her face was dumbfounded, her head turned and her gaze littered around. She didn't mean to do it but somehow she was staring at her partner from across the room.
Violet didn't know if her gaze had provoked Angel but that didn't matter now because he was already coming towards her. His chair had been pushed under his desk and he was making his way to the empty seat next to her in the computer corner.
Angels frame casted a shadow over Violet. She raised her head, staring up at him and immediately her lips twitched.
The sun beamed off the silver fronts and bottoms in his mouth. His skin looked perfect under the suns touch and it allowed her to see the slight freckles littering his skin.
Angel was no different than her, staring at the girl while his frame ghosted over her, shielding her from anyone else's gaze.
He sank his teeth into his bottom lip, watching as her nose twitched and her glasses tilted further down the bridge of her nose. All he wanted to do was dust his thumb over her skin, push the glasses back into place and kiss each and every corner of her skin.
"Violet?"
He was sitting now, and she'd begun gathering the spit at the walls of her mouth and swallowed it down. Her eyes were wide open, showing the expression of confusion. Angel dragged his thumb over his index finger, holding himself back from easing the crease in her brows and making her use her words.
Once she had her lips sealed back together, Violet nodded, letting him know that he was right about her name or the fact that she was Violet, she didn't know which one.
Angel didn't expect her to bless him with her voice, she rarely spoke to anyone but of course he'd assumed he was different. He had a lot of delusional reservations when it came to her.
"I wasn't really paying attention. Could you explain what we're doing?"
She was frustrated now, he could tell by the way she sealed her palm together into a fist. He caught it at the corner of his eye and as soon as she realized he could see, she freed her nails from being sank into her palms. Crescent moons rested in her skin now.
Angel was going to make her speak, even if it made her a little angry at first. He still remained calm, a grin remaining plastered over his lips from the start.
Her hand came from under the desk and rested on her pencil, dragging it over the doodle covered sheet as she began talking.
"We're partners for the yearly project."
Violets eyes remained on the sheet in front of her. She never once picked her head up to look at him again.
"You're my muse and I'm yours. We will submit four tasks over the next four quarters and they will come together as one portfolio at the end of the year to which we will share at the end of the year art gala. There are no limitations, only that we must use our muses in our art."
