Y/N led me around to the back of her house, just outside the gates of their backyard lied a giant hill and a huge field just ahead of it. "Let's go." Y/N nudged me before grabbing my hand, interlocking our fingers to run up the hill with me close by.

What I didn't know was that she was a way faster runner than I was.

I was practically out of breath when we reached the top and Y/N seemed perfectly fine. The sun beamed down completely on us and the glow and radiance of it all just really shined a light on Y/N's features. Her hair was pretty curly, dark eyes when turned away from me but her Y/E/C eyes really suited her. Her jawline wasn't too sharp but it wasn't chunky either. She wasn't too skinny but pudgy enough in all the right places. Everything about her seemed so perfect.

"This is the fun part." Y/N's voice snapped me out of my trance as she put her board on the ground, pushing it as we watched it roll down to the bottom. "Now we run." She threw her arms out in the open and let her feet take her away.

I chuckled to myself with my eyes slightly widened, she was going down pretty fast. Almost reaching the bottom, Y/N managed to do a summersault and lay on her back after, her affectionate giggles being heard from a mile away.

I quickly did the same as her, my board landing beside hers before I began running down too. "That... is pretty fun." I chuckled breathlessly and Y/N kissed my cheek as we grabbed our boards from the ground. I looked straight ahead to see the sunsetting just over a bed of flowers. Varieties of flowers lay there; any kind of wildest dreams.

I was in awe. This moment seemed so perfect. "Let's make homemade bouquets." Y/N suggested with an eager grin.

"Yeah! My mom knows how to take care of them, she can show us how to cut the thorns and stuff off." I added and yelped a little in surprise when Y/N used her free hand to grab my bicep, literally yanking me towards the flower field.

"Perfect then." We stared at each other for a good while, blushed settling on our faces after we realize that and we quickly turn away from each other to carefully pick out our favorite looking flowers. I grabbed a few Dahlias, Carnations, Daisies, and some roses because why not?

"Have I told you that I'm grateful to be here with you?" I spoke out loud to Y/N. "I honest to god thought my mom wouldn't let me come here, but I'm really happy she did."

"Me too." Y/N smiled softly at me. "I've been wanting to meet you in person for forever."

"We've only been talking for a month."
I laughed.

She shrugged. "Feels like forever."

All I could was blush uncontrollably as we continued to pick flowers. Y/N held all the flowers we picked up so I could carry our boards up the hill we came down from.

We went around the fence, going to the front door where I held it open for Y/N. She walked through and laid the flowers on the kitchen table. Her nana was sitting in front of the tv, watching Friends and knitting.

Mom looked like she was cooking dinner. "Hey, girls. How do we feel about meatloaf for dinner? I checked with your Nana already."

"Sounds great!" Y/N beamed with a radiant smile that warmed my heart. "Could you help us?"

"We want to make homemade bouquets." I added as my mom smiled.

"Sure! Let me put this in the oven." Mom slid the meatloaf in the oven before helping Y/N and I. I attentively watched her and Y/N trim the stems of the flowers to rid them of their thorns. Mom peeled back the petals that had dirt on them and managed to make the flowers look even prettier.

While Y/N was washing up, I was placing the flowers in the way I wanted them to be for the bouquet. "This for her?" Mom smirked a little, slightly teasing me.

Of course she knew of my crush on the girl.

She's my mom, how could she not?

"Yes." I blushed. Mom ruffled my hair with a chuckle, leaving me to do my work in peace. I had a pink, see-through wrap to keep the flowers inside it. I placed a rubber band around the stems to keep it together.

I walked with the bouquet behind my back, surprising Y/N who left the bathroom. "What's up, Jen?"

"Here." I handed the flowers to her, watching her eyes cutely light up.

"Oh, you didn't have to." She gushed with a flustered grin.

"I know. I wanted to though." I shrugged shyly, feeling my whole body warm up when Y/N kissed my cheek.

"Then thank you, Ortega."

"Y-you're welcome." I watched her joyfully run off to place the flowers in her room. Mom was watching from the down the hall, throwing me a wink after the interaction. "Mom!"

I groaned embarrassingly when she laughed softly.
