Part 38

I've never been so nervous in my whole life. If anything goes wrong tonight, it could go multiple ways. Maybe good, Maybe bad....

As Colby drives me to the apartment complex, I play with the sleeves of his hoodies I'm wearing. Him and I decided to take a separate car so we could have some calm before the storm. Colby had one hand on the wheel and one hand on my thigh, rubbing circles on my skin trying to keep me calm. He knows I'm nervous. 

"Everything is going to be fine," He said reassuringly. 

"I know," I say softly. "It's just...Mike is so unpredictable. I mean, what if he tries to hurt someone and we aren't fast enough to stop it." 

"We're prepared," Colby responds as he pulls up to the complex. 

"That's Will's car," I say as I point it out. 

"And there's a police car a few spots away," Colby says, trying to keep me calm. "See, everything is under control." 

We park and get out of the car. Everyone else is already at Amy's apartment. Colby and I go up the elevator and we go to Amy's apartment first. Sam opens the door and lets us in quickly. When I walk in, I see an office sitting on Amy's couch. 

"M, this is the Chief, Micheal. He's here to help us if things go too far," Amy tells me. 

"Nice to meet you, Micheal," I say politely as I stick my hand out for him to shake.

"Nice to meet you, Malory," He says and shakes my hand. "I'm sorry the force hasn't been much help to you and your friends." 

"Mike's a tricky one," I reassure him. 

"M," Sam says. "It's time."  

My nerves only grow more. It was happening. Mike was finally being sent away. He won't bother me or any of my friends anymore...

I take a deep breath. I feel a hand grab mine, and I immediately know that it's Colby's. 

"Umm, before we do this, there is something we need to tell you guys," Colby announces. 

"Pregnant." Jake guesses. 

Everyone laughs, including Colby and I. "No, but we did want to tell you guys we were officially together." 

"We're happy for you guys," Sam says. 

I smile and Colby squeezes my hand slightly. 

"We just felt like we should tell you all in case something goes wrong," I explain. "Plus, we were tired of hiding it. Even if it wasn't hidden very well." 

"It's good to know it's official," Corey said as Devyn hit him lightly on the chest, causing me to giggle. 

I take another deep breath. This time, I feel another hand grab my free hand, and I look over to see Amy. 

"You've got this," She reassures me. 

I smile at her. "Who's gonna be the one to call me?" I ask. 

We had decided I would keep my phone on me in the pocket of Colby's hoodie so they could listen in from Amy's apartment. 

"I will," Kat said as she pulled out her phone. 

"And the code word is still Purple, right?" I double check. 

"Yep!" She said. 

"Great," I said. 

I answered Kat's call, turn down my volume so Mike and Will can't hear them, and put my phone in my pocket. Kat also muted herself just to be safe. I turn to leave Amy's apartment, but I turn around one last time.
