*Arabella's POV*
"Hey, girlll," my best friend screamed as she sat down at the table I was sitting at in the cafeteria at school.
"Hey Soph, what's going on?" I asked her and couldn't suppress the smile creeping on my face.
"Nothing much. Did you hear that someone actually beat Colton in the Enduro finals last weekend?" She explained quickly.
My heart dropped, that someone was me, but no one knew I raced, let alone rode dirt bikes in the first place. It was one of my well-kept secrets, and I didn't let anyone know about it. "Uhh no, I didn't. Do you know what their name was?" I stammered.
"Carson Ryder, I think the name was," she replied, looking at me suspiciously.
Yep, it was me. My name is Arabella Carson, but I came up with a race name so no one knew I raced. It wasn't that I was ashamed that I raced, it was the fact that people in my town didn't really support girls that participated in male dominated sports so I decided it would be better to keep it a secret.
"Never heard of the name before, Colton looks pissed though," I said, referring over to where Colton and his group were sitting. I needed to start being more careful about when and where I ride, I usually just ride around the tracks I've got at home but Colton's parents recently bought the property behind mine and him and his friends ride there pretty often, especially near the boundary where mine and his property connects.
"Haha, yea, do you want to go get our nails or hair done this arvo?" Sophia asked me.
As much as I love Sophia she's into all the girly stuff which is not me at all but I can't let anyone know that cause I don't want people treating me differently now that I actually fit in somewhere.
My dad and I moved to Roma 2 months ago, and I quickly realised it wasn't like my old town at all. All the girls are always wearing skimpy tops and unnecessarily short shorts or skirts that barely cover their asses, and all the boys ride dirt bikes and are constantly showing off.
It's kinda sad if I'm being completely honest but if I wanted to fit in I had to join the cheerleading team and go get my nails done whenever I was asked whether I was busy or not which sucked because I'd rather be helping dad out with the cruisers or working on my bike.
"Yea, sure. I'll be able to get my nails done, but I can't stay for long cause I need to get home," I replied. Sophia was also the cheerleader captain, which meant I and all the other cheerleaders had to hang out with her.
"OK, great! I'll just message the rest of the girls and see if they're free," she said furiously, tapping away on her phone.
*Colton's POV*
"What happened last weekend, man?" Lucas asked as he sat down at the cafeteria.
I just shook my head and sighed, "Dunno, I've never seen that guy before."
"Yea, neither. You reckon he lives around here or was just visiting for the race?" He asked me.
"I don't know, and to be honest, I don't care. I just want to head over to the property dad just bought and get some practice in. Once lunch finishes, I'm gonna get the bus home and ride over," I explained.
"Alright, sounds good, man," he replied as the end of lunch bell rang, signalling the end of the day.
I got up, collected my things, and went out to wait for the bus.
*Arabella's POV*
The bell rang, and I got a text from my dad saying he wanted me home straight after school. I sighed and shot a text to Sophia.
