6. He came

Park Jongseong

I stare at his number for some seconds

I have no choice

I let out a sigh and pressed the call button.

One ring .Two rings. Three rings

C'mon pick it up

"Missed me?" I scrunched my nose at his greeting .

"I need your help"

"Help with what?"

"I'm ...stranded. I'm at the bus station but the bus isn't showing up and-"

"Send me your location" He cuts me off. I send him my location and cut the call.

Thunder boomed ,shaking the branches of the nearby trees. I flinched and shrank further back into the bus shelter ,trying not to get wet .

But the rain slanted sideways,splattering me with water droplets.

I sat there and hugged my bag while l wait for him to show up.

Suddenly, the bright beam of headlights slashed through the rain .

I let out a deep breath , " You finally showed up" . I said as l got inside his car and sat on the passenger seat .

"Do l look like a driver to you? Sit beside me" His words made me roll my eyes .

I got out of the car and sat on the seat beside him. "Thanks for picking me up, l appreciate it" l said but he didn't response.

I suddenly remember something , causing me to shout ,"Stop!" .

Jay flinched and glared at me ,"What!??!"

"I have to go to the 'Sweet and Treat' bakery to buy a cake" l say . Today is my Grandma's birthday and l want to buy her ,her favourite Vanilla Cake.

"No. Its already late"

"Please. Today is my Grandma's birthday" l say trying to convince him and he let's out a sigh. "Fine"

After a few minutes ,we arrived at the bakery and l quickly unbuckled my seatbelt and was about to go out but he grabbed my arm and pulled me back to my seat.

I looked at him ,being confused , "What? We're already late and they're closing soon.''

"You can't go out like that!" He said being offended.

"Like what?" I wore a white full sleeve shirt and a black pant. Nothing scandalous .

Jay inclined his head towards my chest. I glanced down and let out a horrified yelp.

Because my shirt? Wet. White. Transparent.

I crossed my arms over my chest , my face turning red .

This is so embarrassing .

" Was it like this the entire time?"

"Yes"

"You could've told me"

"I did tell you . Just now"

I closed my eyes shut and exhaled a deep breathe before l look at him again.

I dropped my arms , forgetting my see-through shirt until Jay's gaze flicked down to my chest again.

"Instead of being an asshole and staring at my breasts , can you lend me your jacket? Because l really wanna get the cake before the store closes soon" l say but soon widen my eyes and realization kicks in.

Did l just utter the word 'breast' to Park Jongseong, My boss . And called him an asshole?

Jay's eyes narrowed, "Trust me, l was not staring at your breasts"

I roll my eyes at him,"Whatever. Just lend me your jacket . I have to get the cake and the bakery closes in 10 minutes"

Jay clenched his jaw ," I'll get it. You're not leaving the car dressed like that. Even wearing my jacket"

Jay yanked an umbrella from beneath his seat and was about to exit the car but l gripped his arm.

"Get the Vanilla flavoured one" l say and he nods

He then returned less then 5 minutes and dumped the box of cake on my lap.

He then entered the car, " Give me your Address"

"It's ******* , house no.4"

A few minutes later, we arrived at my house and l exited the car. "You can come in ,if you like"

"Nah,I'm good" He replies

"Okay, thanks for the ride" l thanked him.

"No problem. And tell your grandma that l wished her 'happy Birthday' " He says and l smiled . "Bye, see you tomorrow" He winks and drove away.

I turn around and saw my grandma watching me from a distance. I run to her and hugged her ," Happy Birthday!"

She chuckles ,"Thanks , sweetie"

"And was that guy your boyfriend? " she asks with a grin and l looked at her with wide eyes.

"Nooooo , he's just my boss"

"Really?? He seems like a gentleman" She says and l roll my eyes

"He can be an asshole too"
