إني لا أملك في الدنيا
إلا عينيكِ وأحزانيI have nothing in the world
Except for your eyes, and my sorrows.

"I was just praying in their living room lest that man run out of patience and throw all of us out. I don't understand Irvin, why can't you restrain your mouth for sometime?"
Samantha carefully addressed him, seeing he was in a better mood right now. Irvin stared out the almost empty street of Islamabad, clutching a half-burnt cigarette between his fingers, against the window.
As for only their car and the security vehicles were on the road. The streetlights were passing in a blur, vague rusty yellow hues cascading through the window, perching the shadows on his face.
He oversaw her question as if he didn't hear it, or perhaps didn't feel the need to answer her.
"Don't sit at the front. The glasses aren't bulletproof, you might get shot." Samantha tried again. Very softly.
In answer, he put the cigar on his lips. Grey smoke gushed out of them the next moment.
His right arm rested against the driver's seat in a way, it completely covered their view. She knew he always cringed getting close to people. But—
"Are you listening to me?"
Silence.
"You'll remember my words when someone blows that head of yours."
Elizabeth snorted. "He'd be six feet under then."
Silence.
"I can't believe, how anyone in their right mind can reject a girl like her. Did you see Anastasia? She can't be real." She shook her head in disbelief. "I was staring at her for ten minutes straight. And this crazy—"
She paused.
Samantha held back her smile. Elizabeth cleared her throat and spoke softly this time. "He didn't even look at her."
"Elizabeth?" He said dryly.
"Yes?" She anxiously answered.
"If I hear your voice once more, then I'll throw both you and your stupidity out of the car."
Elizabeth didn't talk after it. She had no doubt that he could actually do it.
On the distant footpath, a kid was giggling, walking towards home with his parents. The feeble rain was still hitting the windows, and it made the sights blur.
Trailing the gaze of him, Samantha recalled it.
"Why don't you get married now?" She once asked him.
As usual, it was so hard to approach him, let alone interfering in his personal life. He was always unpredictable and she didn't know when he'd burst in front of people.
"Why?" He asked in his usual crisp tone.
"Just like that." She shrugged, "You earn well now. Get yourself a girl, get married, have kids. How long will you like an abandoned caveman?"
"You have someone in mind?" He said still busy checking some reports on the table
But it shocked Samantha.
"You—"
"Do you?"
"Yes!" she nodded instantly. "Of course, I have alot. In fact, papa has approached me with multiple ones for you. They're all aristocrats."
