"Spill the beans, kid"

"I get that an awful lot lately. I thought I looked older than my age," You grimace, handing a can of beer to her.

"Taehee's asleep?" She opens the can with a pop, angled away from her face. She was half convinced you shook it just to get back at her.

"Out like a light," You grin at her as you take a sip from your own can. She motions for you to begin speaking.

"You know Taehee's dance class?-"

"Don't tell me-" Jia stops you, hand on your forearm, staring at you in sheer horror.

"What? No!" You scowl at her, "I've been taking lessons from one of the teachers."

"Aren't they both male?" Her eyes narrow at you, giving you the widest grin her lips can manage.

"Ji, I swear I'll stop talking if you don't get it together."

She gives in, arms up in a surrender.

"They are both male," You confirm with a nod before debunking, "but there's nothing happening. We're just friends, totally not into each other or anything."

"Didn't even say anything," Jia laughs, her head tipping back against the sofa.

"You say a lot without talking!" Your annoyance is evident when you roll your eyes, taking a long sip from the beer can.

There's a comfortable silence that settles between you both. Silent enough that you can hear Jia's nails tap against the half empty can. Silent enough for you to hear the crickets converse in the darkness of the night.

"How's things with him?

"Hm?"

"Ya know-" Jia starts, seemingly trying to find her words.

"Oh- It's all good," You save her the trouble, a tiny smile plastered on your lips. You avoid her eyes, scrutinising the colour of the beer can. You now notice how unsettling you find the darkness of the purple. It's such a wrong colour for a beer can. (no shade, love purple)

Jia doesn't need more words to understand that you're way over the topic. You always have that tiny smile when you prefer not to discuss something. No matter how unsettling it is to her, she lets the conversation rest.

PRIVATE DANCE LESSONS ─ (unedited)

(✎ author's note |୧
*sigh* where do i even start? so i took like a God knows how long break from writing and it's entirety tbh. It was weird to me but i finally decided to check out this app again.  also, the wattpad purge 2024??? thank God i wasn't a victim. I'd never trust this app anymore.

I've seen a lot of authors complain BITTERLY, what if they didn't have their stories backed up bro? I'd just cry.

That's besides the point anyway. It's encouraging to see this book still gettin reads, no matter how little, even after i stopped updating. Thank you to the most recent reader, for allowing me pick up this book again. Your votes are much appreciated. It'd be cool if you guys leave a follow, to know when I start other projects. I have ideas ;) ୧| thanks for reading)
