Ultraviolence

She opened her eyes to see Rosalie, one of the maids, opening her curtains. "It is much too early for this, Rosalie. I've gotten nothing more but an hour of sleep." That's all she had to say to let the maid know that she was tired. If she could, she'd fall back asleep right now. "I'm sorry, Liliana, but your mother sent me up here to get you ready for your debut." With that, she earned a groan for Liliana. She did not want to present herself in front of the queen and many others. "Don't remind me." And with that, Liliana got up out of bed and slowly made her way to the drawing room to greet her mother.

Liliana went and sat on one of the couches opposite her mama. "Must I debut, why not wait another season." She expressed her unliking of this "diamond of the season," knowing she would not earn the title. "My daughter, you are to debut. Now I'm not saying you must be courted or married right away, I just want you to put yourself out there. With my help, of course." Lady Danbury paused and looked up from her needle work. "Now go get ready. The maids are up there. Don't keep them waiting." Liliana just huffed, dramatically sighed, and walked back to her own bedroom.

Lilana groaned as the maids tightened her corset. She felt as if they were to pull any tighter her breast's would pop out completely, and her waist would vanish into thin air. Finally, after the pulling and tightening came to an end, they slipped the white dress with gold accents on her body. Feather already in her hair, she made her way down to the carriage. "Oh my, Liliana, you look gorgeous. Any suitor would be lucky to have you." Her mama was the best at complimenting her.

Lilana waited behind the doors as many girls presented themselves to the queen. She was next. Daphne bridgerton had just gone. "May I present to you, your majesty, Miss Lilana Danbury, presented by Lady Danbury." The man standing next to the door said. Right before the door opened, her mama reminded her to smile. She began walking with grace towards the queen. She knew of the queen and her mama's friendship, but she knew that would not change her view on her. She looked over to the right side of the crowd and locked eyes with Colin Bridgerton. He looked at her with his soft blue eyes. The only thing that got her to stop looking was when her mama gently poked her in the back, and she faced the queen once more. Once in front of the queen, she curtsyed until the queen placed and hand upon her chin and brought her face to look upon hers. "Absolutely flawless." And with that, they walked back and too the carriages, along with every other family in attendance.

Before she got in the carriage, her mama reminded her of the callers that were to come. She must be in the drawing room. Her mama stepped into the carriage, and lilana followed after her.
