A pale woman in a dress suit, matching the same color scheme of the night sky, checks one of the many files stacked on her desk. Her face remained stoic as she adjusted her slightly falling glasses now and then. Her blood-colored eyes scan the open file on her desk before speaking up.
"Hm... Maggie Reyes, another student that has passed the entrance exam..".
A brown-skinned man with long, bleached, locs that were up in a bun, paired up with an outfit consisting of a white dress shirt and black trousers chimed in.
"Ma'am, In my opinion, I don't suggest accepting her into the school."
The woman tilts her glasses slightly more down before speaking up, "And why is that?"
The man took a deep breath to continue. "I've spoken to her school and the principal reported her misbehavior. She'd pick on the other students with her friends, got into multiple fights over the smallest of things, was caught cheating during finals-,' but he was quickly interrupted.
"Oh cheating during finals?" The woman's eyebrows slightly raised upon hearing this information.
"W-Well, It was later deemed to be false ma'am," The man stammered. "But she is a delinquent and should not be accepted in my honest opinion."
The woman nods with a calculated look on her face as a finger rests on her chin thoughtfully.
"She got a 100% on the test. All gadgets were confiscated, the students were patted down, scanned, and cleared. I doubt she could have cheated.
The man simply shook his head and looked back over at the woman, "I'll be doing more inquiring then."
"What are the chances I passed the exams?" Maggie inquired as she strolled along the poorly paved sidewalk with her friends.
A boy with short, fluffy black hair, tinged with blue at the ends, scoffed softly as he looked over at Maggie. "Tch, yeah, we're all surprised too".
Maggie looked over at him, her thick polka dot brows furrowing before scoffing back, "And I'm surprised your parents didn't know what protection was at their big age Kaizo, yet here we are," she retorted, looking ahead of her.
Kaizos brown eyes turn into slits as he returns a murderous gaze at Maggie. "You cheated, didn't you?" Kaizo suddenly accused.
Maggie's eyes widened as soon as his accusation left her ears before getting riled up.
"Excuse me?! I worked hard and studied all damn night you asshole!"
Kaizo just laughed in disbelief and a mocking manner. "Yeah right! Studying my ass! You were up all night playing Baldur's Gate 3 fat ass!"
"And you was up all night eating you recyclable government wanking little TWAT!" Maggie yelled back.
A girl with blond hair up in a bun with her bangs slicked to the side and her edges laid chimed in.
"Can you two quit the arguing? It's honestly annoying as shit."
"How bout you mind your business, Mary?" Kaizo snapped back while the rest of the group snickered underneath their breaths.
"Bitch how bout you take that god damn stick outcho ass?!" Maggie yelled, smacking Kaizo across the back of his head.
Mary got in between the two, serving as a border to separate them before she scolded them.
"Both of y'all shut the fuck up and getcho god damn heads out your asses!"
The three of them began to bicker with one another, screaming at one another like pirates. The rest of the friend group sighed loudly but paid it no mind.
Maggie suddenly screamed over them, causing everyone to flinch violently. "SHUT THE FUCK UP!"
Upon hearing her screeching, everybody stayed silent to hear what she had to say.
"Look, me, Kaizo, and Mary, are all going to the same school. So we won't be able to see the rest of you guys too often since it's a boarding school," Maggie uttered with her usual uninterested tone.
One of their other friends spoke up, their voice calm instead of disappointed which would be normal in a situation like this, "Who?"
Maggie rolled her eyes and turned around to her other friend with a scowl. "I just said me, Kaizo, and Mary you dumb fu-"
But before she could even get the last word in, she was immediately cut off by Kaizo.
"CARESSS!"
This caused a chain reaction of laughter and just annoyed sighing.
"Fuck you Kaizo that's why yo parents got divorced you dick!" Maggie exclaimed before punching Kaizo in the arm.
Mary just shook her head disappointedly while Kaizo continued to laugh loudly in Maggie's face, hatred burning in her eyes.
After a while, they all stopped by Maggie's house, not even giving her a goodbye. Well, Mary did at least which was quite nice of her.
As Maggie walked into their small house with a tired look on her face, she spotted her sleeping dad on the couch, knocked out cold with a bag of opened chips nearby while the TV was still on.
"Thank god he's asleep... ion wanna deal with him asking about school and shit," she muttered before walking to her room and slumping onto her bed.
BEEP BEEP...
Maggie checked the pockets of her sagging pants which were dirty and stained with grime. She reaches for her buzzing phone and immediately answers the call.
"Mabuhay," she says with a sigh.
It was Mary on the other end of the phone! "Yo, Maggie, are you ready for tomorrow? You're all ready right? Like your clothes are all packed, your-".
Maggie quickly talks over Mary, her scowl deepening at the mention of their new school.
"Uh... no, not really. Honestly, Ion wanna move ina dormitory school. Especially with these bum ass kids who clearly been coddled they whole lives."
"Have you ever been in a private school? Not all kids are the same y'know," Mary replied as she shared her screen on FaceTime to scroll through her boring ass gallery.
Maggie shook her head and responded, "No, but we got in through scholarship. These kids just paid their way to get in."
Mary sighed softly, "Maggie, you still need to take tests and allat to get in. Just admit you're jealous of these rich kids and move on, you know that ion give a fuck," she stated honestly.
"I don't give a shit about them. They can all get infected with the Black Plague for all I care," Maggie announced cold heartedly.
"Whatever... anyways, remember Beary?" Mary suddenly asked with a laugh.
Maggie recalled their last interaction with "Beary". Which, actually wasn't her name. Matter fact, they didn't know her actual name.
Beary was a punching bag for the trio and their posse to release their pent up anger on. Maggie needed someone to yell at to make up for all the screaming at home she had to endure. Mary needed someone to hit to make up for all the violence she witnessed as a child. And Kaizo needed someone to ignore whenever they needed something to make up for all the neglect and ignoring he suffered from.
But in their defense, Beary had been spreading rumors about the three but acted all friendly in front of them.
"Ohhh, that two faced bitch with the hairy arms and build of a swollen up air balloon?" Maggie recalled like it was family memories you'd look back on.
Mary lets out a hum and continues on, "I heard she might be going to our school. But it's alright, we still haven't mobbed ha ass yet. Maybe one day we'll catch her."
As Maggie continued to listen to Mary's plans, she began to systematically pack her luggage for their new school. Each item she placed in her bag was a tangible representation of the impending change – the transition from her old life to the new one that awaited her.
